My family will be at Disneyland July 17-21. We have 5 day park hopper tickets already, thanks to my mom who bought them for us when we said she could come along!

The family is Grandma (61-two time cancer survivor), Dad , mom, 7 yo girl , and a 2 yo boy.

We have a family suite at the Camelot the 16th-22nd. We will have our own car.

I do know about which rides and shows are closed during our trip. I was going to buy ride max or touring plans but they don't seem to be too popular. Give me all the good advice ya got please! I had to pick the dates due to the times we could get off of work.

Make sure to download the Disneyland app (free). It really is helpful with wait times, FP availability, character locations, menus and prices, etc. Will Grandma need a wheelchair or ECV? That might be something to look into if she needs to conserve strength. Full park days can easily cover 10 miles or more walking all over the parks, so Grandma should be aware of that. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! Free cups of ice water are available throughout the parks (any CS location will give you a cup -- just ask if the cups aren't already out on the counter). Don't wait until you are thirsty -- drink throughout the day. TS reservations open up 60 days in advance (most of the time), so make your reservations if there are specific places where you want to eat, like Blue Bayou. Ask here about any questions you have. You'll get really good advice. Have a great trip!

We went at the exact same time last July...and stayed at Camelot in a family suite! It was great!! Right across the street, easy walk. I found the crowds really manageable, especially with the 5 day pass. That's what we had too. You will have a great time.
If you want to see Fantasmic or World of Color....it's really worth doing a dining package. Or get a fastpass. It's almost impossible to see them otherwise!!

Grandma is in amazingly good shape but after the colon cancer treatment she is tired more often. I was thinking of bringing a rollator because I have blood pressure/heart rate issues when it's too hot or I stand in lines. I can share with her if she needs it. She is already starting a walking program to increase her stamina but she is in pretty good shape already. She dislikes the roller coaster or thrill type rides. She figures she won't be able to pull off the open to close dumbo in a day or die style visits she did in the past.

Fantasmic will be closed but they did open up a dessert party option for World of Color that looks fun. Expensive but it involves seats, I will have to see what people say about it as it doesn't begin for at least another week. Im willing to blow some moola on fun experiences we haven't had a family vacation in years. We considered staying on property but we really just need a bathroom and a place to sleep. The family suite will give us some space.

I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed a similar visit!
