We just reserved a studio for OKW 6/4-6/11 and then will be going on to VB for 4 nights.

We own at BCV but the studio was not available. I guess it works out best since OKW uses fewer points (we have 200 but are using the initial 200 we gained from the 6/2003 purchase).

Any suggestions on how to request a particular room or section of the resort? We definitely want nonsmoking. Probably close to the pool would be good. We have an 8 yr old dd who loves to swim.

We are waitlisted at BCV . Any suggestions on rooms at BCV. We will be at BCV 12/19-22.

Thanks for the help.

At OKW you are never far from a pool or bus stop for that matter and with an 8 year old the kiddie pool is not a question. Just take whatever they give you making sure that it is non-smoking of course. Most of the studios do not have great views because they are on the sides of the buildings toward the front. just have fun!!:D

My only problem with OKW is transportation. I hope you will have a car. Even for a quick dinner, OKW can be very frustrating if you don't have a car.

I don't think that is necessarily true. If you're talking about a dinner at Olivia's, just walk to the bus stop and ask the next bus driver if he/she will be stopping at the Hospitality House on the way out.

There are 4 or 5 stops throughout the resort, so it can take a couple of minutes to actually get where you are going. But you're never a long walk from a bus stop.

I too agree that there really is not an area that is not close to a pool or a bus stop. We actually prefer the South Point area that is far away from the main pool, but we love the neighborhood pool there.

We have had wonderful bus transportation at OKW as well. I would agree that the studios can feel a bit closed iin being on the ends of the buildings, and often closed in by vegetation, but the bathroom is huge and wonderful and has a seperate sink and dressing area outside the bath.

There is always something negative to say about the OKW bus transportation.....I guess we have been very lucky. We have been members since 1993 and have never really had a problem with the busses. Oh yes, there have been the 1 or 2 instances, but over all we find it to be very efficient. We have never rented a car and never intend to. Hope that you have a great time:sunny:

How does this work with DVC? Should I contact Member Services and ask for a specific section of the resort?

Thanks for all your advice.
