Hilton totally sold out first 3 weeks in Jan!

We were thinking about doing some fancy footwork with Southwest RR credits and HiltonHHonors points we have/are collecting, and looked into a quick four night trip in January.

The Hilton isn't available until the end of the month!

Is there a convention, or is everyone going to WDW in January going to find way bigger crowds than they bargained for??

We may still go, the Embassy Suites and few other properties are available, but farther than we were hoping to have to drive. We may just say "eh" and wait until attendance calms down...in a couple years? Decades?

One hotel being sold out doesn't mean all that much. The park hours are usually the best indicator one could have for how crowded things are likely to be---longer hours means more people, and shorter means fewer.

They haven't extended the hours for January yet. I called to get ADR's and could get most any time at any restaurant for the 3rd week of January so I don't forsee it being overly crowded.

Many hotels only set aside so many rooms to book with points. It may be that the hotel has availability, just not with points ???
