I had read on this web site how you could get the Hilton for $78.00 per night with AAA :cool1: So I go to the site and book five out of the ten rooms I need before the site kicked me out. :guilty: Now I have no idea were to put the rest of my cruising party! :sad2: :sad2: I had told them all the price before hand, and now the cheapest is $135.00! Does anyone have any tips or ideas that can help me out? :confused3 We are on a tight budget, with 53 people cruising this January. :grouphug: And would like to stay close together. Any info would be greatly felt! :love1:

Checkout Priceline. Biddingfortravel.com and Betterbidding.com will help you learn how to use it and also give you an idea of what properties are being won for what bid amounts. Good luck.

I would suggest calling them directly and explaining the situation. Chances are they have exceeded the number of rooms available for that rate. Special rates are only allowed to be so many rooms otherwise, they couldn't afford to do it. However 10 rooms may qualify you for a group discount of some sort and if you speak with a manager directly they may be able to accomodate you. It's worth a try.

Good Luck! :cheer2:

anyone in your crowd a government employee or aarp member? both can get discounts off rack rates. call and ask to speak to the reservations manager at the hotel (not the 800 number)-ask what the best rate available for that period is (ask if they are offering any unadvertised specials)-then ask what kind of deal they can give you for your entire party (they may do better than the 3a rate in order to book that many rooms)-if they quote a rate higher than the one you've already booked at, point that out to them to get them to go lower. if you are unsuccessful call again and ask for "group sales"-gen. this is a different manager who (unlike the reservations manager) who gets a commission from the hotel when booking a block of rooms (and may have more leeway to give you a lower rate).

best of luck!
