Is this near the Disney resort? I have a conference there and was thinking of staying at the Disney Resort instead. Anyone stay there?

I just know if I see the Disney one, I'll stare longingly the whole weekend

Looking at a map, the Hilton resort looks like it is just down the beach from the Disney Beach House. You probably cannot see the Disney resort itself from the Hilton.

It's maybe a mile and a half or a little less from the DVC resort. If you're looking at other options you might also look at condo's in the area and the Hyatt resort. Don't forget to check for other rates at the same location, I often find direct rates cheaper than conference rates. One thing to consider about conferences and timeshares is that it's very unusual to have companies reimburse for using something you own already no matter what the value is. Of course if you pay cash for the timeshare there's no issue. The ONLY way I've seen companies do this is the ones that will do per diem for lodging as well as food.

I know my job won't reimburse me if I stay on points- I'd just pay cash.

I might just stay at the Hilton- the conference is only for a weekend- and take some time to drive around and see where I'd like to stay in the future.

You should enjoy the Hilton. Right on the beach. Largest standard guest rooms of any hotel on the island. Two pools (family & adult). Outdoor bar. Indoor bar. Market and two restaurants. Feel free to walk up the beach to check out the DVC beach house.
