OK....I have a few questions I know you all can help me with.

1. We are thinking of getting a studio and 1 bedroom OR just a two bedroom. We will be booking at the 7 month window. We are looking at any time in the month of May. What do you think our chances are for both options?

2. Probably fly into Savannah. I think its 30 minutes drive to HH. Do you recommend renting car? This leads to my third question

3. I know of activities at HH resort. any other activities outside of the resort (you need a car for) that any of you recommend that isn't too long of a drive?

4. Last one for now.....What are your favorite activities you've done at the resort. We will have 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old daughters with us. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!!!

May should be no problem if you call right at 7 months....for either option. Savannah is about an hour from the resort. The resort is a good 30 minutes from the highway! Absolutely rent a car - you need one here!

Can't help with the other questions, as I never leave the island once I'm there. I know there are alot of activities for little kids, and there's plenty of stuff to do as a family (outside of scheduled "activities").

For a 4 1/2 and 2 1/2 yo the resort has activities for them everyday. We just got back yesterday. My kids are 6 & 3. For instance they participated in a lady bug activity that was an hour long and geared towards kids 3-6. They learned about the lady bug life cycle, played games, had a read aloud, and did a craft. Best of all it was free. :) Actually it seemed like all the activities for ages 3-6 were free! This was the only 3-6 activity my kids participated in b/c the others cut into our beach time. However if you have less than optimal days there are other activities such as: Fish and Fry, Toddler Time Crafts (ages 1-5), Music and Lore of the Low country with B'lou Crabbe, Magic in the Den with B'lou, Shadow's funny bunny hunt which is Shadow the dog and B'lou searching around the resort for Brer Rabbit. There are also nature walks and beach walkd with their naturlists.

Plus they have campfires three days a week that include songs and smores. They have a pool party on Tues. that was a blast! During the day the lifeguards do pool games. Plus they have some pay-for crafts. But they are geared toward mostley 5+ and some are geared for teens.

We were pleasantly surprised at all there is to do at the resort. Plus at any time you can rent fishing gear, play shuffle board, billiards and of course swim. :)

You can also easily walk over to the harborside plaza that has shops and restaurants. They have a beach shuttle too. So a car is not needed and if you like to ride bikes the island has extensive bike trails and you can bike to Disney's beach house too.

Now with that being said. I was glad we had our car to lug all of our beach stuff (chairs, umbrella, sand toys). But you can also rent chairs and umbrellas too. I also liked having our car to go get groceries. HHI lends itself well at least for us to eat in the villa more often than we do at WDW.

There are many more 2 BR units so that might be easier. One should be able to get either the studio and 1 BR OR a 2 BR if you call at 7 months out. I'd call day by day, esp for the smaller units are there are less of them. Also realize that the Marriott's that are beach front will be less points (but likely only 270 vs 280) and well, beach front; if you are going for a full 7 days.
