Are there different view choices/categories? And if so, what are they? :sunny:

There are no view categories such as at BWV. VB has two categories for Inn rooms: Ocean or Garden.

No other DVC resorts have any type of room category. All units are the same.

Hilton Head has the lodge, and the free-standing multi-unit villas. Similar to Vero Beach. You could request the lodge or not, but there is no difference in points required.

Basically all views are mostly woods as the entire complex is built within a wooded area. Villas around the pool area may have some views of the pool. Some on the outer edges will have some views of the marina and inland waters.

Views higher up in the lodge will have views capable of seeing some of the inland water areas. The resort is not on the Ocean side of the island, so there won't be any views at all of the ocean.

There are no ground floor units since it's a flood plane. All units are one floor up or higher. Only the lodge has an elevator, to the best of my recollection.

Also, the villas in the Live Oak Lodge buildings are almost always rented out as studios and 1BRs. The handicapped-accessible units are also in that building (because of the elevator), so if you need a h/a 2BR (or GV even), it will be in the lodge buildings.

The resort is really pretty small and IMHO, there are no "bad" locations. If you're closer to the lodge (front desk, pool table, shuttle pick-up) you will be further away from the pool and vice-versa. But it's an easy (and beautiful) walk to any location throughout the resort; you can even stop for a snooze in a hammock along the way! ;)

We've stayed at the resort many times and have never had a location that we didn't like; they're all great, just for different reasons!

I'll agree that most all views at HH are fine; however my last trip I had the view of the back of the slide at the pool. Not a good view - I'm thinking my room was 2512, but I'll have to look back to see. It was a short trip and we didn't spend time on the balcony; but I would be very aggravated if I was given that room when the weather was nice and I had planned a long stay! My guess is that this room and the one above it are the worst views at HH, don't think I would complain about any of the others.

Thanks everyone. Didn't know about the elevator thing. We'll need to request HA for my dad then.
