Hilton Head Trip Report--UPDATE SSR TRIP REPORT

So today started with breakfast at Artist Pallette again..Love them breakfast's with the chocolate croissants. Off to Epcot, and once again cannot praise how much taking your own car is! We were literally 20 feet from the main entrance! We went in, and went to Soarin..Did fast passes, and then got in line..After, drum roll, TEN MINUTES, we were taking off!!! There was NO LINE! Then, off to Test Track, and another TEN MINUTE WAIT!! Amazing! We then did Mission Space, 5 minutes, and then Figment. Did a little shopping, got my Flower and Garden pins as well as Mickey Gnome for the garden at home, and then lunch in the land...Did livin with the land, then off to the worlds. It was pretty hot, so we just walked through them! Now, we are back swimming, pizza, then back to Epcot for Illuminations! A good day!

Off to Ohana for breakfast...It was ok, Chef Mickeys to us is so much better....From there we drove to Animal Kingdom to ride dinosaur and tough to be a bug, and redo some photopass pics they lost.....Then, jumped in the truck and drove to the studios, where Jake did TOT!!! He loved it! Just wish people on the ride would not raise their hands and pose, cutting out the little folks for pictures. This group was so bad, the lady at the photo desk offered to bring us back on the ride for another shot at a photo! Then we did Animation, and now back to SSR for pool time, then EPCOT tonight

This is what I bought for Jess today as a surprise...She loved the pin, so I got her the precious moment figure

We drove to Epcot. We did Nemo, then did Soarin, 1hr wait, then test track at night, with a 20 minute wait at 9pm. We hit 64.7MPH outside! Awesome! And the night was so perfect weather wise. I love my Cannon Camera, here are a few night shots:

So, today is our last full day and night at the world :scared: UNTIL OCTOBER AND BAY LAKE TOWER! :cool1::goodvibes

So, today is basically a relax, pack day. We are going to swim, then slowly pack up our things. We will head over to the MK around 2-3ish, hopefully get into Tonys for dinner, then spend our last night at the MK, since its open till about 12:00am I believe..Then, tommorow, we will probably leave a little earlier than normal, and head to HHI for a nice sunday. Monday we are going to try and make the drive from HHI to Mass all in one shot! We had a GREAT week at the World, with perfect weather! Ill update more later!

We weren't there Friday Night. We spent all day at the big pool and then we went to Ghiradelli's (sp) for supper. I had the Midnight Reverie and the family had the Gold Rush.

Then we went to the Community Hall for some games for Conanette.

I've never known Ghiardelli's to serve anything except sundaes. Can I conclude that someone other than me thinks a Gold Rush is definitely a good supper? It's healthy too-lots of calcium for the bones, if there's a cherry on top (I can't remember), there's your fruit, and the nuts are supposedly healthy, but I can't remember why. Works for me!
To the OP, don't forget to fill us in on HHI again, please.

We are from Natick MA and drive to wdw and hhi at least 1-2 times a year. We often do HHI on the way back for a relaxing rest after touring wdw. We also spend summer vacation at HHI and xmas week at OKW(this plan for the past 4 years). HHI to MA in one shot is a long 16+ drive for us so we do break it up. This year, we are driving to HHI for June6 check-in and will be going an alternative route that others have suggested to avoid the 95 congestion. Its basically 84 to 81 to 77(NC) to 26 then to 95 in SC. We'll let you know how it goes. We have been doing 95 for so many years that we are on autopilot so this will be interesting. good luck on your straight shot home!

Back to MK for dinner at Tonys. Had a waitress that has been at Tonys for 30 years...She was telling us about all the celebs, athletes and figures that go there...Quite a few...Regis, Richard Dryfus, Bob Iger to name a few..We didnt stay at MK, WAY too busy..Then to DD to get a few Goofy Candy Company treats, a quick dip in the pool, then a good nights sleep for our drive to HHI tommorow. We had a GREAT WEEK!

So, we head down to the quiet pool, for a little quiet time, when a family of 6 walk into the pool area....The dad tells the kids, its the quiet pool, so I say "Its supposed to be, but not really" then realize its a buddy of mine I have not seen in a few years from back home!! He and I went to college together, and his wife and I were 1 year apart in school! He works in the same job as me one town over!! We both looked like we had been struck by lightning! So we talked for a bit, he just got here today, and we are leaving! He owns at Saratoga, and has for a few years!! What a small world, even in Disney!

I've enjoyed reading about your trip and seeing the photos. How nice that you met someone from your past and enjoyed a reunion. I wish you safe travels!

And just checked into Hilton Head, bldg 16...Very nice!! ON our way from Disney, we went down International Dr, and stopped at the Character Outlet. I read here about the Flamingos with Mickey Ears that were supposed to be at the Epcot Flower/Garden Festival, but the color was not right. Well, this store was pretty cool. Not only did we buy 2 Flamingos, ill post pics tommorow, we picked up some pins...One of them was the ESPN Grand Opening weekend pin!! A limited edition that a friend could not find for me, and it was there! THey had a LOT of cruiseline items for sale very cheap as well!!

We leave tommorow early for our drive back to Mass. We should be home around midnight tommorow, and ill post more pics and stuff on Tuesday!!

AWESOME !!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: (sorry, I'd missed reading your last post before I posted) Did you get to do any activities tonight ?

WOW. What a drive last night..Holy Cow...So, we left HH at about 7am, and all was fine UNTIL Maryland...HOLY HOLY! Accidents galore! Sirius Traffic said it was the worst monday in a very long time!! We sat forever! We had to wait, at about 8pm, and the Baltimore Harbor Tunnel for an hour while they closed the booths to powerwash the ceilings!! Unreal. Then it was pretty smooth, until after the George Washington. They were doing road work at MIDNIGHT at the CT/NY Border!! Another hour. What should have been a 16hr ride took about 20! We were beat.

PROS: Weather was great, Flower/Garden looked awesome! Food was all good, and having your own car was fantastic.

CONS: My only complaint. People, be mindful of others. Its not just YOUR Vacation, its everyones. Treat the stuff at Disney with respect! Dont let your kids try to pull things off rides, go through the ropes to touch things. DON'T break the rules just because you are there, IE a nasty habit at the pool allowing the residue to drift towards others. Be courteous.

This was a fantastic trip, and thanks to everyone who followed our TR. Now, our timer says 153 days till Bay Lake Tower!!!
