Thinking about trying for a 2 bedroom in June 2011 at HHI. I have never been there before. What is there to do in the area not at the resort. There would be a 3 children ages 17, 12, and 10 year old with us. Normal beach trips in the past for us have been to Myrtle Beach. Spend half the day at the beach, the the other half of the day going to other area attractions. I have been trying to find what other area attractions are.

We parasailed, did jet skis, and honestly the boys loved the ping pong table at the beach pool. We had to buy a ping pong table when we got home. And my favorite Pinot Gelato every night!

Just down the street are a couple miniature golf courses. There are lots of activities available in COmmunity Hall at the resort for the kids.

My children are DS17 and DD12 and they absoutley love HHI. A couple of their favorite things to do kayack with the dolphins and to take a crabbing/boat trip on the Crabber J II. This is a mid-size crabbing boat. They take you out into the water and have the lines already baited and they teach you how to catch a blue crab. Whomever catches the most blue crabs wins a t-shirt.Down-side is you can't keep the crabs. It is catch and release. As an added bonus on this crabbing cruise, we usually get to see the dolphins swimming along side us.

My kids also like to play minature golf, but somehow they stay so busy at the resort and the beach/beach house that we have only played minature golf on the island 2 times over several visits. We usually go there 4-5 times a year. In fact, I just got back from a quick over-night stay there.I discovered a water slide area on this trip around the Coligney area that I hadn't seen before. Oh well, we will be back there in 3 weeks, will have to let the kids check it out then. Go let them try HHI, I think they will like it.

My family (DH, DMom, DMom's Best Friend) and I just returned from HHI on Thursday. We all LOVED the resort. Though we didn't have any children with us, there was still plenty to do. We spent the majority of one day just in the pool...had a lot of fun on the slide and watching karaoke. I also enjoyed particpating in making a tie-dye Mickey shirt. I don't know if your kids would be into it, but we also took a day and went into Savannah for a tour there. We are thinking about going back next year and will definitely be looking into the dolphin tours as well as the kayaking!

First of all, the kids will love the offerings that the resort has. The teens night out, the kids night out, tie dye, etc.

We have done the kayaking, the dolphin cruises, we have caught and cooked crab off the pier (ok, honestly the cooking was a disaster, but nonetheless it was an adventure we will never forget).

We bike ride a lot. Spend time at the beach, play ping pong and shuffle board. We have caught a movie if the day is rainy. We have played putt putt and tennis and golf. We like to go down to coligny plaza and check out the shops.

We enjoy the magic shows with B'lou Crabbe, as well as the ghost stories, etc.

We are going to take a boat ride to savannah on our next trip. We haven't done that before.

Come to Savannah! Spend Money!

There is more US history within 60 miles of Hilton Head than you can shake 2 sticks at. Charleston, Savannah, Beaufort.

I highly reccomend the Marine's Museum at Parris Island.
