Hilton Head summer at 7 mos

How difficult is it to reserve summer stays at HH during the 7 month window?

I checked the availability boards and it seems spotty.

Anyone with experience not being able to reserve at HH during the 7 month window - specifically 2BR units?

I reserved a 2br at 7mos for a stay in early June 2010 (I think the first day was the 10th?) Unfortunately, that was a bad winter and I had to cancel the reservation because of too many makeup days for school and DD had finals. Still waiting to get there... someday!!

I guess early June is still early for the summer season, and that it's probably harder in July/Aug. Good Luck

There are more 2BRs than anything else (76 dedicated 2BRs, 21 Studios, 21 1BRs, 5 GVs) and many have had good success for summer reservations right at 7 months for 2BR villas (not so much with Studios, 1BRs or GVs).

If you can be a little flexible with your dates and call right at 7 months, you should have some success.

I agree with Doc. We were able to secure a 2 bedroom at 7 months for almost August 7 - 12 (Sunday - Thursday). Called first thing at 9 a.m. but we were successful. I think later in August may also be easier since some of the schools in Carolina's start in August. Talk in the pool was 1 bedrooms are harder to secure. Also heard that if you really want to go and have the points, try to start your stay on a Friday or Saturday night - these are supposedly the last days to get booked due to the increase in points vs the rest of the week.

We have booked 2 vacations at HHI for late July, early August at the 7 month window. Just make sure you are on the phone at 9am the morning you can book.

We are going for our first time for Labor Day weekend! I called at 9:00 on the first day of the seven-month window and was able to get the reservation. This is after trying several other dates over the summer, though, that were already booked. We probably would have preferred to go earlier. Still, can't wait to get there and see this place that everyone raves about.
