We will be a DVC Hilton Head at the end of April. What are the best walkable restaurants nearby or must see or eat at drivable places?

Thanks!

PS - Any tips would be great on HH!

YOU MUST go to SOUTHERN CONEY AND BREAKFAST. It looks like nothing special. In fact, you may want to turn around and leave when you see the place (despite the fact that it is super clean, not a spec of grease on the range, etc.), but it just doesn't seem impressive until you eat. Virually everything on the menu..... and we tried one of each, is AWESOME! They have some of the fluffiest/chewiest pancakes I have EVER eaten out and their biscuits with sausage gravy are to die for.

For dinner, I just adored Pazzo, which is right across the street. Again, atmosphere not very impressive but the food was excellent! It was an outstanding reliable italian meal and I don't mean Pizza Place Italian, I mean wonderful Northern Italian with fresh fresh calimari, just melt in your mouth, and outstanding Chicken Francese over perfectly cooked pasta. My husband and Mom has out of this world dishes and they chef makes to die for Tiramisu.

It's about a 10 min drive or so. heading back on the main road....Called Frankie Bones.......It's AMAZING..Great service great food great prices, and just mention that you're staying DVC @ HHR & they'll give 10% off as well.... Here's a Link to their website.

We are here right now. San Miguel's is right across the harbor in shelter cove. Has great happy hour specials. 4 to 6. barbecue chicken nachos, fish tacos. All great. Plus live music.
Also Poseidon, has great food and rooftop bar that's nearby.

Another vote for Pazzo. We've been eating there every visit to HHI for 10 years. As we live in Savannah, we have several times made excuses to go over to HHI just to eat at Pazzo.

San Miguel is super close and we enjoyed it. There's other choices in that same plaza and some shops to visit; including an ice cream shoppe. Giuseppe's was a good lunch choice - there is a location over in the plaza by the Gerbe's. You could easily walk or bike if you wanted.
For choices not necessarily in walking distance; we loved Skull Creek Boathouse and One Hot Mama's.
Enjoy your trip. Just slightly bummed that we aren't enjoying it this year and visiting Mickey instead!

This is excellent, just what I was looking for. We will have 8 of us and two infants.

Are they all 10% DVC discounts? I will have some big dining bills!

Thanks,

Tom

When you check in the CMs will give you a list of the restaurants that give the dvc discount. When pay at the restaurant just show them a room key.

I don't believe either of the two I mentioned (Southern Coney or Pazzo) do the DVC discount, but they were priced very fair. I understand the big bills though, we are 8 as well and only have one infant so the 10% does help. Considering how large of a party you are, it might be a bit tight at Pazzo, you might have to sit at two tables back to back but I really think it is worth it and the restaurant is small so you wouldn't feel far apart. I would definitely try to make a reservation at Pazzo though because it seems they probably get busy during the more popular times to travel.

Another vote for Crazy Crab and if you go for lunch...it's a bit cheaper with same atmosphere and same great food! Giuseppie's is our favorite pizza place---but we like to order it to be delivered poolside. Try the white pizza and the wedges---ahhmaaazing!

San Miguels has yummy food and good sized portions!

We just got back today. Front desk gave us the list of discount restaurants. We walked to San Miguel's which was excellent food and service and great for kids. Also to Scott's fish market which was delicious food but a little quieter of a restaurant but great to eat outside if weather nice. Also very very short drive to Poseidon in the shelter cove town center. It was good and had good prices and excellent service All those gave ten percent off. We also drove to the skull creek boathouse a little further drive which was great food as well but no discount. Be sure to look up early bird special menus- lots of restaurants had great specials if dining before 5:30pm. Poseidon was about $16 per person for drink salad and entree which was a great deal especially when you add that DVC discount!

If you are willing to drive 10-15 minutes, Low Country Backyard is one of the best meals I've ever had

We had heard that as well, so we gave it a try last year. Hands down the worst meal of the entire vacation. I'm glad to hear that your experience was better than ours.

That's too bad. I wonder why our experiences were so much different.

Part of it for us I think was a not so great server after an extremely long wait out in the heat after being told it would be a short wait. The food wasn't as great as other places we tried; nothing just jumped out at us as being super special.
The other thing that stands out at me as being weird was I remember ordering a beer and they brought the can and a warm (as in fresh out of the dishwasher) plastic coke glass for me to pour it in - just seemed a little odd.

Hopefully our experience is not the norm from what we hear.
