I have stayed at every DVC Resort, except Hilton Head. My husband and I are planning at three day weekend there for my 40th in October.

Here are my questions:

Is there a building I need to be aware of with the best views?

How is the weather, will we be able to swim, do we need sweatshirts, etc?

Would you pick a 1BR over a studio for only $30.00 a night?

Is there a Spa at the resort?

What do you think about this resort during Christmas break, is it too cold?

Thank you, I can't wait. It looks lovely and peaceful and I just can't wait to see it in person. Thanks to all who respond.

LUCKY YOU! You will love HH!
Not sure about the weather, could be in the 50s-60s or could be in the mid to high 70s. Watch the weather channel if you can on the net, each fall is different.
No spa at the resort, but we rent bikes and ride all over the island.
Never been at Christmas, but lots of people do go then and love it.
I would go for a 1bdrm, then you have a kitchen for breakfast and/or sandwiches, plus more room to relax/watch tv and a bigger porch.
We like to ask for the lodge because there is an elevator and we can park and leave our bikes underneath the building in the garage.
Have a great time!:)

They keep the pool at 82 so you can swim. Getting out could be a little breath-taking.

We were just there and had building 17 - we had great views of the marsh from our deck, and were just steps from the pool. Webmaster Doc just posted a link on another thread w/ a description of what views the different buildings have.
You will love it!

No. There are a variety of views at HH. Some buildings have marsh views, some overlook the pool and some have views that overlook the interior of the resort. We prefer the marsh view, but we've had each and they're all fine.

The pool is heated but it might be chilly getting out! You will definitely need sweatshirts.

Most definitely! YES! No question about it.

Is there a Spa at the resort?
No.

It will be chilly, but I think it would a wonderful place for a winter vacation.

Hilton Head is fantastic! Have a great time!

Would you suggest requesting a room in the resort or a marsh view? I am assuming there is not an ocean view. I am not slightly interested in a pool view, since I am kidless this time. Oh my, what will I do with my time?

I am getting a 1BR and do not know if a marsh view would be more laid back and romantic, or if staying in the resort is the way to go. Is it like the Wilderness lodge where you have a view of the inside of the lobby, or just the resort itself?

I would like to narrow down my building choices so I'm not stuck with a parking lot or a pool view. Want some peace and quiet on this trip, and I'm going to make the best of it.

Thanks again!

Not sure by what you mean about a room "in the resort". HHI consists of the main lodge, which has some rooms in it, and several buildings that comprise the resort. There is no ocean view, so yes, you should request a marsh view.
