Hilton Head question

For those of you who have been to the Hilton Head resort...do they have any character visits? Also, do the cast members do pin trading? Thanks for your help.

Yes, the CM do pin trade. THere is also a question of the day in the Mercantile.

We have been to HHI a number of times and have never seen characters.

Yes on pin trading, and make sure you ask at the Mercantile since the CMs there typically always have them.

As for characters, none typically show up unless you happen to get lucky enough to catch it at the right time and see Shadow!

There are a lot of great things to do there otherwise, and the CMs do a great job of making the whole place and the activities fun for the whole family.

Never saw any characters but had fun at the bon fire singing songs and roasting marshmellows.
The CM's at the mercantile are great-lots of trivia and chit chat. And another guy (Oh no, I've forgotten his name at the moment. Maybe Mike?) who was super at giving us directions, maps and things to do on the island. I'm just sorry we only had two days there.

We actually saw Shadow (or a golden they called Shadow)! Even have a pic with DD and Shadow to prove it!

Shadow is the only character at HH but there are Bambi and Thumper shrubs at the Lodge entrance. As much as I love Disney, it is nice to have a break from the whole chasing characters thing at WDW when you are HH. The vacation is very relaxing and just the right amount of activities for the kids. My DD (now 15) has spent many years at HH and it is by far her favorite DVC vacation spot even though we fit in WDW at least once a year. The camp fire is a nice way to spend a couple of nights while on vacation.

Last Character appearence that I know of was several years ago when they had the 10th Anniversary of the resort opening.

At Christmas, my wife and I were going to dress as Mickey and Minne and stand at the gate waiting for the rest of the family to show up. It fell through when several family members got ill just before the trip. We had a grand Villa also :_(

They also give away pins at the store if you answer the trivia question right.
