Hilton Head Planning?

Hi! My in-laws are DVC members who booked us a 1 bedroom suite at HH for a 3 day weekend in January. Since we're not members, we're new to this whole thing, and I had a few questions:
1. Are there any activities that you would recommend we book in advance? I've searched the archives and heard about cooking classes & oyster roasts, but I didn't know if you had to book in advance for these, or if they would even be going on in January.
2. Is there anything that we need to bring? Do they provide towels & sheets? I think I read that they provide sheets...
3. Is the tub in the 1 bedroom units a jacuzzi tub?
4. Any other general tips or advice for us, as our first DVC trip?

Most of the resort activities don't require advance reservations. One exception is "A Private Affair" and it should definitely be scheduled in advance.

Some water related activities may not be available, just because of the weather, but there will still be plenty to choose from.

The 1BR tub is a jacuzzi and towels and sheets are all provided in the room. The kitchen will also have an assortment of utensils and typical equipment- you will have to supply any food items however!

Enjoy the resort. It is in a beautiful setting with much to do in the area- including relaxing! Have a great trip!

The Dolphin cruise is a really interesting and fun trip, do wrap up warm though because at that time of year, even if it's sunny, the breeze over the ocean can make you quite chilly.
We also went to the wine and cheese evening organised by chef Gordon that was very worthwhile. The "Private Affair" where Chef Gordon cooks a meal for your party was a highlight of our trip, by far the best meal we had of our stay in HH.

The dolphin cruise is a must do!!! Book the one through the resort, there are other less expesive ones but it is wrth the extra $$$.

Can't say enough about the Dolphin Cruise. Capt. Mike does a fantastic job. It is a small boat (21 ft) and takes up to six passengers at a time. You will probably have it to yourself at that time of the year. Have a geat time and dress warm.
