Which is more difficult to get at the seven month window in the middle of summer: Hilton Head or Vero???

HH for sure; it's their high season in S. Carolina. Vero's high season is in the winter. On the other hand, if you wait until the last minute, you aren't likely to get ressies at either place. Vero has low points in the summer, since it's a slow time for them, so lots of us who want to try out Vero, go at that time, thus it sells out. Now, if you wanted a beach cottage--54 pts per night!!--they go very quickly in the summer. You would have to book these within the 7 month window, at least.

I got a 2br at Hilton Head at the 7 month window for the first week of August.

I also got a 1 br at Vero Beach for the first part of March also at 7 months.

Both are considered the most difficult to get, but at 7 months with some ability to be flexible, I got them.
