Doing my research and planning for a family trip next year. I'm considering HH or Vero Beach. It will be 4 parents and 4 children - ages 11, 4 year old twins, and 2 at the time of travel. Which resort is best for little ones? I feel like since there's a beach, they should be good either way. I'm looking to travel end of May/beginning of June, so weather should be fine, I would think. Please tell me all the good and not so good about each resort. Photos are always welcome too! Thanks!

Hilton Head waves are low and which means kid friendly, Vero Beach waves are larger. The pool area at VB is large and beautiful. Pool at HH resort is smaller but still is kid friendly. Beach house pool is nothing special. If your family loves the beach and ocean my vote is HH. If you are pool people I'd go to VB.
Many restaurants nearby at HH.

With the ages of your children HH is better for the beach, although your 11 yo may feel otherwise!

Know that HH is not right at the beach. They have a beach house about a mile away. They run a shuttle during the day, but you can ride bikes or drive yourself too. VB is right on the ocean.

There are a lot of restaurants and other things to do in HH, but not as much in VB. Renting bikes at HH is a great thing. I'm not sure with the ages of your kids though. You might want to hold of on that until they are a bit older.

The time of the year you go certainly matters. Both HH and VB are pretty easy to get reservations, except for the summer months. HH can be very difficult if you're trying to go in summer. If you are planning on going during off months (like January), you'd be better off in VB as they are farther south.

You really need your own car at both resorts.

My vote was still for HH. We love it there. One of the nicest DVC staff's around.

Both resorts are great! I own at HH so I can quite familiar with this resort and it is very kid friendly. However, the play area for the little ones is really nice at Vero. The beach might be a challenge at Vero since the waves are higher and the current is stronger. You cannot go wrong with either resort.

We love both resorts and go to both. We have points at HHI but this year we're going to VB in August. The big difference to me is there is a whole lot more to do outside the resort at HHI vs. VB. VB is rather isolated by itself. If you love sitting out on the beach and eating at the resort, VB is the better option. If you love going offsite to eat or site seeing, HHI is the better option. Both resorts are very nice.
