Hilton Head Island Resort refurb?

We are going the first week of October. I'm a little worried that our reservation will be affected. If the rooms are already booked, and they decide to start the refurb in September, how will that affect reservations?

ETA: It's not like at WDW where they can move you to another resort.

I think they move over you to stay with Sleepy Dog:P

I wouldn't worry too much. That's exactly like what happened to us at DHHIR several years ago. Somehow MS had accidentally canceled our reservation (we found out as we stood at the front desk to check in) and the resort was sold out. But every day there was a last minute cancelation and we never had to carry through on our threat to drag a mattress out and sleep under the trees in front of the main lodge. Yes, we moved a LOT, and I don't want to repeat it, but it did work out. And the CMs gave us a big box of cookies on the last day for our trouble-even though Florida was to blame for our trouble, not Hilton Head.

That would NOT be fun! But the issue is if they are refurbishing several villas, it would affect more than just one family. Hopefully, the resort is not sold-out for the dates they plan to do the refurb.

I am sure they have blocks of rooms set aside for this refurb. They have had this planned for a long time and they are waiting until past peak summer season to start. They probable will do 1 building at a time so they removed that number of rooms out of inventory before the 11 month window until the rehab is complete.
