SSR is our home resort. We'd like to go to Hilton Head in October. Is this going to be a problem? Also, we could perhaps need two more points. Is there a way to pay the cash difference or do I need two points? I suppose I could alwasy borrow, but I just wanted to be using my 2005 points.

Thanks.

you can definitely do cash - however if using cash it must be for one night cash price - can't be lower.

go rent 2 points on the DVC rental/trade board.

Oct in HH shouldn't be a problem. the only time I have heard is a problem is the summer months. Now I don't know why spring (especially spring break) is not mentioned - because it is hard for the rest of HH.

Thanks. I just got to thinking that we could probably use points from next year too. 2 points shouldn't be a problem. Glad to hear that October isn't too bad.

We've gone a few times in October - always booked at 7 months out and always got what we wanted. The weather has been pretty good in October, although some days have been too cold for the beach and this year there was quite a bit of rain and stormy weather. We love it there and hope you will too!

Thanks. Can you recommend a good website with information on Hilton Head, and not just the DVC. Although I'm not finding a whole lot on that either. We are giving the points to an employee of my DH's who is celebrating his 20th wedding anniversary.

If you go to HH routinely in Oct, I'd consider exploring other timeshare options than DVC. Reason being is that is somewhat low season and should be easy to trade into resorts as nice or nicer than DVC or even to DVC itself, esp for later in Oct.
