For spring break next year, has anyone been in March? Is the weather warm enough to swim? fish?
If there's a cold spell, what are somethings to do there?

Likely too cold to swim! You can get your feet in the water, but jumping in the ocean - no way! HHI is all shopping. So, there is tons to do there and also an hour away is SAvannah, GA which is very nice!

The pool is heated and there is a hot tub - lots of people in there in March (also, lots of people in there in January but I wasn't one of them!) March can still be pretty cold but you will be able to walk on the beach, ride bikes, fish, etc. There are movie theaters, lots of restaurants, indoor activities run by the cast members, and a game room with fireplace in the "lodge". Also, as mentioned above, Savannah and Charleston are possible day trips.

I'm also going in March with two 13 year old girls. We'll be coming from frozen Boston so I assume they will swim regardless of weather!

May have already replied on another thread. We will be there from Snowy Buffalo (although not this year). One 14 year old boy, one 13 year old boy and an 8 year old little sister in tow.

I've been to Hilton Head in March (for spring break), and I swam in the ocean. And we spent a lot of time in Savannah.
