Hilton Head in February

Good morning everyone!
We are heading to WDW in later February and were thinking of driving and doing a few nights in HH on the way. How hard do you think it will be to get a 2BR during presidents week for 3 nights in the middle of the week. Thank you for your thoughts! I know it can be cold, but I thought it would be fun to see the resort and wouldn't add too much time onto our trip.

We have been to HHI resort for many xmas weeks, but never Feb. We were told that many stores/restaurants closed after the holidays for owners to take vacation (up north to ski?) in Jan-Feb, but I can't confirm this. I think 2 bedroom will be easiests as there are mosre of them than others...I think you should be fine. It can be very cold in Dec-Jan(30's one year!) and then it can be 60's with DS swimming in heated pool at resort. Its really very variable. The HHI resort itself will have many activities throughout the week and the resort really lends itself to relaxing. I enjoy it everytime I go- winter, spring or summer,

Thanks Connears. That is what I was hoping to hear. My daughters and I are thinking about driving to WDW for the first time and I thought it might be nice to stop in HHI since we have never been there. We are from Rochester, NY, so I am sure it will be warmer that what we are used to in February!

We are thinking about driving down with my parents (and my husband will meet us in WDW) and then flying home. It will be a good way to see how we feel about driving all that way, since we only have to do it one way! My dad loves to golf and I hear there is great golfing in HH.

In terms of golf, February is a good time to go just because the rates go up at the beginning of March (at least they did when we went in February). DH has a goal to play every golf course on HH that is open to the public-he's getting there! When we went in late February the restuarants that had been closed all reopened by Valentine's Day. Resort attendance was low, so hopefully you'll have good luck getting a villa.
