I just booked a unit at HH for Presidents Day weekend (Feb 14-16) Anyone other Dis'ers going at that time! If so, how about a Dis meet????

We are not going to HH during that time period, but would be interested in hearing about your trip, for future reference. How was the weather in February and what activities you found etc... We have been thinking about going to WDW starting Feb 12th and returning home on the 17th. Problem is that our use year is March and our 2002 points are banked. So can't use the points until after March. We are closing on a VWL add-on, but havent closed yet. By the time this gets closed, the 2002 points will have to be used quickly, Hoping we can get in.
P.S. I noticed Panama City Beach on your post. My Mother recently moved there from Virginia Beach, Va. She seems to like it, only negative comments I have heard was the mosquitoes and how hot the summer was. Have a great trip and if you remember, post how it was. Warm Regards, Mike

Mike, We have been to HH before in both Jan and Feb. We have been lucky with the weather on these trips. Mid 70s and since the pools are heated, the kids could swim. They have lots of activites!Campfires, Goofy Bingo, treasure hunt, boat rides ect.We enjoy going there very much. And it being less then 2 hours from us is great when we need a "Disney Fix"!

My parents also moved to Panana City in 1979. They lived there for 20 years and loved it once they got use to the weather. We live in SC now but kept our home in PCB because we plan on moving back in a few years. The mosquetios are bad but I must say not as bad as Charleston! The mild winters do not kill off the mosquites/eggs so when the spring and summer come...... watch out!!LOL!
Have a great trip to WDW!

Thanks RellingTwin for the post. We plan to visit HH at some point, have heard lots of good things about the whole area and the HH DVC. We used to go South in the winter (when we lived in Virginia). But since we moved to San Diego, our weather is nearly perfect all year, so I was concerned we would be going to colder weather than we have here. If one wanted to fly to HH what airport would you use? Altanta has the best airfare, but would that be to far to drive a rental car? Thanks again. Warm Regards

RellingTwin....what mosquitos! You should have seen the Charleston area when I was a kid. I hated going there in the summer on vacation. At night I'd have to sleep with the sheet over my head...and there was no airconditioning!!! Plus I was allergic....by the time I got back to New York and got bitten by a home grown mosquito I blew up like a beach ball.

Now...its like bliss...they are hardly noticiable (lol).

That is the price we pay for mild winters! But then we do not have to deal with Blizzards, snow tires, slush, freezing rain, frozen water pipes, ect!(just hurricaines every few years ;) )

Where I lived in Fl they had a very good mosquito program. Trucks came by spraying for them 2X a week and people with swimming pools who did not keep them up (let them turn into backyard breeding grounds) were asked to drain them or face fines! As bad as they are I can't imagine what it would be like without the program!

Charleston has SO MUCH standing water, marsh, ponds, ect that the mosquites are out of control!LOL!Our backyard in unusable for much of the summer.

Mike you can fly into either Savannah Ga (30 min drive) or Charleston SC(2 hour drive) Atlanta would be a long haul maybe 4 hours??Of course if this saves you a pile of $ then it is worth it. I have made the drive to Myrtel Beach (100 miles) to fly into NY to save $300 in airfare.
