Considering going to Hilton Head for a few days this fall, probably in October. What kind of weather can I expect? Will we be able to swim comfortably?

I have never been in Oct. In late September however it is wonderful. The sun is out, the water is warm and the crowds have gone home!

I was there in October 1999 and the weather was wonderful. You can go swimming anytime, in the pools, since they are heated. If you want to go in the ocean, then you also will not have too much of a problem I don't think. I don't think I went swimming, but we did go for a Zodiac ride and was wet without feeling cold.

I have a weather link on my site which gives annual temps.

I just made ressies for HH the first week of November. What kind of weather can I expect? Do i get that "fall" feeling that time of year?

last yeart from around the 20th to the 25th of October and we went swimming in the pools each day. For perspective, the lifeguard had on a jacket on morning, sort of like the ones at WDW in Feb. And trust me it was not cool enough for a jacket. She was sitting in the shade and the wind was blowing around pretty good. We did not go into the ocean (waded only) because we were heading on down to Daytona Beach on the same trip. The temps were in the low to mid 70s in the daytime with lots of sun and in the evening it did drop to the high 40s at least one night. It did not seem fall-like to answer another poster's question at this time. But this was a couple of weeks earlier than you were asking about. The one thing to remember is that with the weather, you just can never tell. That is afterall, why they are called average temperatures.
