We are going to be staying at Hilton Head for a couple of nights. Doesn't look like too much to do there...anyone have any good fun ideas? Thanks:coffee:

HHI is a quiet beach area. it gets very dark at night and signage rules means some businesses can be hard to find if you don't plan ahead...but people like it that way...

if you want more activities, myrtle beach might be more your style.

HHI has many great restaurants and a number of great golf courses. there's also the beach and many bike paths. here's a website with more info

like the wdw resorts, the HHI DVC resort has a number of planned family-type activities. here are some recent trip reports to give you an idea of how some DVC people spend their HHI time:

1. Go to Savannah for the day (45 min drive).

2. Go on a dolphin boat tour ...we saw so many!

3. Visit harbour town.

4. bike around the island or to the beach..

5. Visit the beach.

6. Golf if you like it.

7. Hit the spa at the marriot.

8. Pirate island mini golf

9.Do a kayaking tour

10. Eat in some of the great authentic Low country restaurants like Low Country backyard.

11.Visit Shelter Cove Marina (where the resort is) you can walk there. Check out the sundial.

We went to HHI in 2011 - my trip report is in my signature.

It is quiet but we had a great time and would definitely go back in the future :)

By "Not much to do there", do you mean at the resort or on the island? The resort has a full list of resort activities for children and families. And if you're going off-season, there's a pool table and checkers table both in Big Murgie's Den off the lobby (they're there all year round, but in season I expect they're always being used). There are free board games available if you ask the front desk, and free DVD rentals from the General Store/Mercantile.

the pirate themed mini golf place is the best mini golf I've seen. It's right by the entrance.

Low Country Backyard ... yum. I'm still thinking about the shrimp & grits I had last year.

Check out the Jazz Kitchen.
