Hilton Head DVC

Hello everyone,
Can anyone give me any info on Hilton Head the last part of September...
Are the pools still open? What are the average temperatures? How are the kids clubs..how expensive are they? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

The pools should be open, unless there is some kind of referbishment or Hurricane issue. I dont know that average temp, but it should still be pretty warm. There are all kinds of kids activities, you'll get a list with pricing when you get there.

If you can manage to go earlier in Sept. the ocean will still be warm enough for swimming. We spent a long weekend at the resort in early March and although it was cool outside, the pools are heated and it was still nice to hang around and do things at the resort. There are a ton of activities every day to choose from and many of them are free or very low cost. We kept busy the entire time. The CM's there are fabulous and especially if you go at a slower time, really take the time to get to know your kids. Lots of great restaurants at HH as well. I'm sure you'll have a great vacation there.

I used to live in Hitlon Head (in Shelter Cove overlooking the DVC). I now live in Columbia, SC and spend at least one weekend in HHI each month. It will still be hot and humid in Sept (heck we even get hot days in Dec and Jan). The pools will still be open and the ocean will be warm. Sept is peak hurricane season, and we are well overdue for a hit in that area. Crowds will be thinning out with school starting. There is a lot to do there too. Fishing trips, dolphin & nature tours, horseback riding, kayaking, the beach, great deals at the outlet malls just off island, lots of great restaurants (some if you go early have specials-smaller portions, but includes meal, soup/salad, dessert and a drink), etc. Let me know if you want more detailed info.

We were wondering about this too! We told a friend whose parents live in Hilton Head that we go to Vero all the time and she asked why we never go to HH as it is so fabulous. Has anyone out there been to both HH and VB? Which do you prefer and why?
