Hi all,

We are in the process of buying in at BWV ( currently waiting news of ROFR - fingers crossed) and were considering a trip to HH first. We would most likely be going in November and was wondering what the cash room rates are and if it is common to get a DVC discount at this time of the year. I think that I read somewhere that it may be better to pay cash with a discount, then use points. This way we could use those points for our Disney trip next Easter.

If anyone can give me any info about HH at that time of the year I would appreciate it. Is it too cold to swim in the pools then? Are there limited activities at this time of the year?

Another ? about booking at a non-home resort: Can you only book a cash room at the 7 month window or can you book a cash room at 11 months out at a non-home resort?

TIA
Jacqueline

HH in November should be EASY to get outside of Thanksgiving. I would check with CRO before you book the member discount. I have seen some great deals on that place off season. MS is limited to the member discount.

We already booked at HHI for the member's cash rate for Thanksgiving. I was surprised to learn that at a non-home resort you can book a room at member's cash at 11 months. The rates were around $89/nite for a studio and $120 (not including tax) for a 1 BR. That 1 BR rate is definite-I looked it up on our confirmation sheet. The CM said we could call back at 7 months if we want to use points, but honestly, at those cash rates, which I thought were excellent, we may not even try to change to points. The only week in November we've been is Thanksgiving week. There were lots of activities, but that week is full at the resort. The weather was freezing (literally, some days) as evidenced by this picture of the pool:

That's steam rising! Right after I took that picture, my camera stopped working-the batteries froze, I think. However, people who'd been there other years assured me that it was MUCH colder than usual last year. We'll find out this year!

Thanks Simba's Mom,

Those are fantastic rates, and it is good to know you can book it even at 11 months out. We were looking to go earlier in the month of November so hopefully we will be able to get the same deal. We are not expecting to close on our purchase until late March, so hopefully we will be able to book around the 7 month mark.

Here's hoping you have much warmer weather this year.

Jacqueline
