We are heading to HH next week and are thinking about renting bikes for the first time.

We are thinking 2 adult bikes, one with a kiddie seat for our 1 YO son, and either two bikes for the girls ( 3 and 5) OR..... do they have the 1/2 bike that attaches to the back of an adult bike? If so, is it feasable to have both the 1/2 bike AND the toddler seat on aa adult bike?

Do they offer double trailers?

What do you do with the bikes when your not riding them? Do they provide locks? Helmets?

And lastly... I heard a Cracker Barrel is biking distance... what else is close.. since our girls are so young, no major treks.. I think the beach would be too hard for them.... Just riding around property would be a blast for them.

Training Wheels???

Thanks bunches!

They DO have the bike-and-a-half thing, but I'm not sure that you can put a child seat on it...

I don't think the resort has trailers, either, but the rec CMs can put you in touch with other bike rental companies that probably have them. I've heard from other sources that they are comparable in price to what you can get from Disney, and will even deliver to the resort!

The resort will provide locks, helmets, and even baskets, if you'd like. Most people just leave their bikes outside their villas -- either locked to each other, or to one of the posts of the railing. I've seen several bikes that are not locked!!

Cracker barrel is not a bad bike ride away, however, I'm not sure I'd want young kids on bikes with training wheels to try it. If you can do the tandem thing, or the trailer, you will probably be OK.

They had the bike trailers for the little ones a couple years ago, I'm sure because we almost got one and then decided on the kiddie seats.
HH Diner, Fuddruckers, and Guiseppe's are all an easy ride away..
Have a great time and if you see us, say hi!
:D

Hi,

I have a tag along (1/2 bike) that I used with my son from the time he was about 4 until 7. You wouldn't be able to use this with a bike seat. I would recommend one of the adults use this for the 5 year old, and the other ride with the two younger ones in a double trailer.

The tag along is great, but you need a little practice to get used to it (balance, stopping, etc).

With this setup, you could go almost anywhere (adult energy providing). :bounce:

Thanks for the info. I think we will do a toddler seat on one adult bike, have the other adult bike set up for a trailer AND get the girls their own bikes. That way, for shorter trips we will skip the trailer, longer ones, use it.

Being a family of five is great, but sometimes the logistics suck.::yes::
