Anyone know if there are any in the Main Lodge? I have one reserved for Thanksgiving Week, and I can't remember where they are. My mom is 90, and a little bit unsteady, so it would be great to have an elevator. I have stayed in the lodge several times in 1 or 2 bedroom units, but I don't remember seeing anything that looked like a Beach House unit there.

No, none of the Grand Villas are in the lodge and all of them have the entrance on the 2nd floor of their building, so you'll need to go up 2 flights of steps to get to the front door. In addition, the master BR is the only BR on the main floor of the villa except for the sleep sofa in the living room. GVs are located in bldgs# 16,18,19, 28 and 30.

There are accessible 2BR lockoffs in the lodge with elevator access to all floors, but the lodge is the only building with elevators. The GVs are more like the ones at OKW, SSR, AKV, BLT and BWV rather than than the stand alone 3BR Beach Cottages at VB.

You could call MS to see if you could get a 2BR and Studio in the lodge instead of the GV if stairs will be an issue.

Like Doc said, none. However, that's an interesting question. How does that go along with ADA requirements? At first I thought they'd take the 1 BRs and studios that were HA and put them together in a configuration to make a grand villa/3 BR. Then I remembered-at HHI, they have fireplaces in the grand villas. So I'd be interested to know-how DO they solve that dilema?

we had a GV at HHI this summer. it was up two sets of stairs-i think we had 1922. The GV was wonderful but there was that set of stairs to get to our unit. There was a room below ours. it did have a fireplace-stocked with wood, ready to go. and of course, there are more stairs in the GV-it's a two-level GV, not a single level. the master bedroom is one the lower floor and the other two bedrooms were upstairs. we loved every bit of our trip, except lugging suitcases and groceries up those stairs. :worship:
