Has anyone stayed there and how does compare to Vistana Resort?
We are considering Vistana Resort, OLCC or Hilton Grand at SeaWorld.

Thanks,
Mary

I love this resort!!!!

stay there 3 times - 2 in a studio that I paid full price for - live in Ala so their great deals on timeshares sales did not apply......

my last time on an exchange in a 2-bedroom

love it!!!

the whirlpool tub in the room is much easier to get in than most of the ones I have tried. also the water comes out like a water fall!!!!

the rooms are well organized and lots of room.

but I didn't like - their 2 main pools are together - this area is separate from where the tennis courts, basketball, and something else I couldn't remember - there is another pool in another section.

only one of the main pool is heated.

We are HGVC owners and have stayed at the Seaworld resort many times. It is spacious, clean, lots of facilities and within easy reach of WDW, Universal, Seaworld etc.

We had one week last year at OLCC and hated every minute. I'll probably get shot down in flames by others who love it, but it didn't work for us. We had a 2 bed villa in the North Village which was miles from anywhere. We had issues with the cleanliness of the villa. The nearest pool was a drive away and was always crowded and noisy. Can't remember the names of the restaurants but they did'nt appeal in the least. The Club House (reception, restaurants, games, sales, shop area) looked tacky and cheap to us and the reception staff acted like robots (no smiles, no manners etc.)

I think we have been spoilt by Hilton and OLCC didn't live up to our expectations. Sorry to sound so negative but it was just our experience which we will never repeat again. I did write and email them regarding our stay but never received a reply back - par for the course I thought - just summed them up.

Not been to Vistana Resort so can't comment.

Good luck in your decision.

onlyholly and spiceycat,

Can you tell me how are the pool? Are there many activities for young children? I will have my grandsons with me. Are there any areas better than others? It may be 6-8 people in a unit, would that be a problem?

Thanks,
Mary

are you use to traveling with that many people - it so - you should be fine -

in our unit - there was a king bed in the master and second bedroom, a double sleeping sofa in the second bedroom, and a queen sleeper sofa in the livingroom.

have you send the website.
http://www.hiltongrandvacations.com/ownership/resorts/seaworld.html#

do the online resort tour

the pool have stuff to do - there is also an activities list daily - it is on your TV and they give a hard copy at check in - if you don't get one ask (they do run out of copies).

there is a movie every night?

there was a tv with a vcr in each room and a computer keyboard to access their system - I think you can play games on it????not sure about that one.

There are two types of 2 bedroom units.

Standard: Master bedroom with king bed/jaccuzi bath, en-suite shower room, 2nd bedroom with 2 double beds, separate bathroom with overhead shower, double sofa-bed in living room, dinning area and full kitchen.

Lockout Unit: Master bedroom with king bed/ jaccuzi bath, en-suite shower room, 2nd bedroom is a studio type room with double bed, double sofa bed, two seater dinning table, mini kitchen (fridge, sink, cutlery, crockery for 2 persons), and en-suite bathroom (with overhead shower), living area as above unit.

The three bedroom is a standard two bedroom with a studio (lockout). We have had all three units. When my in-laws come with us we ask for the three bedroom with lockout unit as they have their own fridge, living area, balcony etc should they want a little privacy.

But, if it is just myself DH and DS then we prefer the standard two bedroom. Saying that my DS (11) prefers the lockout best. Likes his own living area (settee, coffee table, TV etc). I think it makes him feel grown up.

There are two pools at the main reception/club house area. One heated with water fountain, the other cold with a waterfall feature. Outdoor pool bar/cafe area, theatre, grocery shop, gym, childrens activity/day care centre, several hot tubs, crocket green, shuffle board, lake. A couple of buildings away is the basketball and tennis courts and at the other end of the resort a quieter pool (our favourite).

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask.

I've stayed at all three. The HGVC is definately the best of those three. We liked it a lot. The Vistana resort was okay too but not as nice as HGVC and there are some older units. I give a fair rating to OLCC.

We have stayed at the HGVC and are owners at the Vistana. We stayed in a 3 br at HGVC. The units are much nicer at HGVC but I enjoy the ammenities better at the Vistana. The units at HGVC were very nice. But I did notice that when something broke at the Vistana, they came right up to fix it. But our tv was broke for 3 days at HGVC before they came to fix it.(could be because we are owners at the Vistana and were trading for the HGVC??) The pools at the Vistana are spread out so usually your unit is closer to one. At the HGVC the pool was very far away. And with little kids it was hard. Both are nice, just depends on what is important to you.
