For anyone that has stayed there, is it a pretty easy walk to SW and DC from the resort? We are staying there for free, but I want to know if I should count on driving to the parks or just a quick walk. TIA Maggie

Ive stayed there twice (for a total of 7 weeks). I love the hotel! Anyway, SW is sooo within walking distance. You would be quicker to walk than you would be to drive and park. If you have a room facing the back you can see Kracken and the tower thingy (even from the second floor). When you exit the hotel, turn right and walk through the parking lot of the hotel and cross the street to the Renaissance. Then if you turn to your right, you can see into the parking lot. Cross the road and you are in the parking lot. I am telling you this because it is the way with the sidewalk.

DC is harder. I went the other way (without the sidewalk) which was turn left as you exit the hotel. You actually go straight ahead and go left as you leave the hotel and are on the sidewalk at the front of the hotel. Go to crossing (you can cross here or later). Go left so you are walking on the opposite side of the hotel than the way to SW. Keep going (you can cross now if you haven't alreay to the other side). You have arrived at DC. If you are going for one day then you could take the car for that if you have little kids or are not big walkers. You could also head as if you are going to SW and cut along the street that you would cross to be in the parking lot, so that you are walking along the back of the hotel.

However, you have more options. You can take the free hotel shuttle bus to SW (to get to SW). To get to DC, get the shuttle bus to SW and then SW provides transport from SW to DC.

Hope that helps and that you have a wonderful time. The hotel is recently renovated and should be great.
