My DD and I will be able to spend a couple days in Fl at the end of our cruise--but not going to parks since we have a ten day trip planned for Sept. We've decided to go see La Nouba and just spend the time at Disney Springs. With that in mind--I can't justify the expense of staying on property--which is what we've always done. Has anyone stayed at the Hilton Buena Vista Palace? We don't need fancy--just clean, safe, and close to Disney Springs.

You might get more replies on the Orlando Hotel Board.

The Buena Vista Palace is currently under a complete renovation. Last I heard, the renovation was scheduled through October 2016. I highly recommend booking a different hotel. When I tried to stay there last December, I ended up checking out after one night.

More information (including details from myself and other folks who stayed there) can be found here: http://www.disboards.com/threads/buena-vista-palace-dtd.3453870/

As far as other Disney Springs properties, my favorites are the DoubleTree Suites and Holiday Inn. The Hilton Lake Buena Vista is fairly mediocre and has a mildly offensive $24/night resort fee.

Thank you for the great info!! I'm gonna choose somewhere else!! :-)

I decided to book Holiday Inn. I'm not thrilled about paying to park--but I got a good rate and no resort fee. Is it a decent walk to Disney Springs?

The Holiday Inn Disney Springs is a solid hotel. What impressed me the most was the fact that every single employee would say hello, including the housekeeping staff you'd pass in the halls. That's unusual in hotels. In fact, as I was waiting for the elevator one day, a housekeeping employee came over and asked if I was completely satisfied with the way my room was cleaned. And, the following day, a manager stopped me as I was passing through the lobby to ask if everything was satisfactory with my stay.

As for the walk to Disney Springs, I'd guestimate it to be 8-9 minutes. Here is a Bing map I created for a previous post. The Holiday Inn is icon #3 and Disney Spring Marketplace is #10. The full map is available via the link under the map.
