We are thinking of staying at the Hilton Bonnet Creek early next year. Their website indicates there is complimentary transportation to all WDW parks. Has anyone stayed here? If so, would you recommend it? Is the transportation slow? How close to Downtown Disney? Close enough to walk there & catch a bus to the parks? Are busses ever full? We have always stayed on-site and know next to nothing about this hotel. Any info would be appreciated!

Not close enough to walk and no buses go from DTD to parks anyways.

The Bonnet Creek Resort area is pretty close to the parks, and not too far (a couple miles?) from DTD.... The problem is that the roads around WDW are not pedestrian friendly.

The Hilton Bonnet Creek shares it's shuttle with the Waldorf. There is actually an official Waldorf/Hilton thread around here someplace which can probably give you more details on this particular hotel.

It's a nice place, and the shuttle seems to be run fairly regularly from when I've seen it running around the property.

I've stayed several times and while I really like the Hilton I would not rely on their transportation. Way too long to get to the parks and the busses are not continuous They come so seldom. I've always had a car.

Hi! Just got back from the Hilton Bonnet Creek. It was our first stay off property and we have mixed reviews and feelings. The transportation is an issue if you are used to being on site. The buses(same bus) stop at all the parks and begin at park opening. You can't get there early or have any ADRs before park opening. The motor coaches are very nice and always on time, but they do get full and run about every hour, or sometimes every two. I didnt like having to carry a bus schedule or worry about it all the time. If you miss the bus at the end of the night thats it. We gave ourselves 40 minutes plus at MK to get to the TTC and still almost had a heart attack getting there and were VERY close to missing it. The parade crowds, monorail breaking down, ferry crowds can make for a long and chaotic trek back to the TTC with some elements out of your control. Thats not a problem on grounds. We flew in and don't rent a car or taxi (too cheap). I will say the lazy river with a cold beer was pretty amazing!

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking we should rent a car to avoid the frustration of waiting/rushing for a bus. That would be a first in WDW too!

We stayed at the Waldorf for our first time off property. While the Waldorf/Hilton properties are BEAUTIFUl and much nicer than many of the Disney properties, IMHO, the transportation stinks and I would DEFINITELY rent a car :-)

I almost had a conniption fit b/c the transportation was SO late - like half an hour or more - which totally messed up our touring plan. So, I had to get the valet to get our car...which took time, UGHRR! When we got back, the manager sent cookies and milk to our room to make up for the inconvenience :-)
