Just returned from three nights at the Hilton at Downtown Disney. Received a great rate on Priceline. We have never stayed at a non-Disney resort. We payed less for our room than we would have for an All Star. If you have any questions I will try to answer them as best that I can.

We LOVE the Hilton. That's where we always stayed before we became DVC members. Glad to hear someone else enjoys it too!!

We used to be able to get great rates as an overflow hotel thru SOG since DH is USAF active duty....I think thru SOG we have paid less than 1/2 the regular rate!!

We also love its proximity to Downtown Disney....that's my only downside to DVC.....have to get on the bus to DTD! SHOPPING!!!

I just received the Hilton DD on Priceline and was a bit scared. Do they treat Priceline ressies any differently? What food options are available there? How is the transportation to/from the parks? I'm an HHonors Blue member, should I bother to present my card at check in?

Thanks In Advance!

I received the same great service from this Hilton that I have from other Hitlon hotels. I am a HH silver member and I showed them my card and received all the benefits that I was supposed to. As far as the transportation to the parks we never went to the parks. We did use the bus system to take us to the Boardwalk, and we just walked to DD to shop. The food ranges from snack store to a restaurant named Flynn's that was pretty expensive. They do have a character breakfast with Minnie, Pooh, Brear Bear, and Pluto. It is a buffet style meal and cost about what you would expect to pay for a character breakfast. The only problem that we had with the room was the half empty bottle of mouth wash that was setting on the sink in the bathroom. If you have any other questions please let me know.

We are staying there in November.

The restaurant inside the Hilton DD has a character breakfast?!:) That is wonderful. That will actually save us a trip to MK one day. Not that we don't want to go to MK but it is convenient to be at the hotel were a character breakfast is.

I have never used priceline. We would like to purchase additional nights for our stay. Any recomendations?

Thanks.

I did not mention that the character breakfast is Sunday only and is a first come first serve basis. It is from 7-11. We went down at about 10:15 and had a hard time getting the characters to come to our table. I had not used Priceline until I booked this room, however it was very painless and we were able to get the room for $70 a night. Good luck!!:D :bounce:

Thank you NBA that is very helpful info. We are early risers so getting up for a character meet would be ok.

I am still a little nervous about priceline. I may ask around over at the Budget Board.:D

What area of the Hilton did you stay in?

Where would you request to stay if you were to stay there again?

We also received this hotel thru Priceline for $60 the week before Easter 4/12-4/20. Everyone who stays there seems to be satisfied with the rooms and services.

Most of our time will be spent at the parks but we ma stay by the pool some days depending on how worn out the kids are.

My parents stayed there a few years back and said it was a large hotel. They really need to put some updated pictures on their website.

We stayed in room 529. Close to the elevator which is good for a family with three children. As far as requesting a room I really do not know enought about the layout of the hotel to request.

Anything else let me know

We just got back yesterday from a split stay at DD Hilton/AKL. We had the 70 Priceline room. We are also Hilton Honors Blue Card members and were treated very nicely during our two nights there. There was never a mention of Priceline. We were in room 671 which was not too far from the elevators or ice. We had a Downtown Disney view and were able to watch the fireworks at Pleasure Island from our window. The rooms are a little on the small side - we had two double beds and a crib. There is only one sink in the vanity area. However, overall its a great deal for the priceline rate for the location. We didnt ride the bus from there, but we saw it coming regularly. It is an attractive hotel inside and out. The breakfast buffet is good. They have made to order omelets and Mickey waffles. The buffet was like $15 per person. The 24hr deli is kind of pricey, though, so watch out!! However, their Krispy Kreme donuts make for a great quick breakfast. My biggest complaint was how pushy the Hilton Vacation club folks were. They have a desk near the back entrance and near one of the elevator banks. Anyway, I think a stay there is just fine and you will enjoy it. Have fun!
