Anyone know how much further the hilton is from the Fairfield inn? We are able to get a rate that's $40 less per night at the Hilton. However, it's my understanding that the walk is a mile and there's no shuttle to Disneyland

Assuming this is the Hilton at the Convention Center, its not a bad walk at all. I don't think its a full mile away.

The Hilton is about 1/4 mile further than the Fairfield. It is on the ART shuttle line. While it is $40 a night less, reminder that it has a $10 a night MORE parking fee, they charge $12 a day for Wifi. (Don't know if this is part of your calculations.) If you have ATT DSL or Uverse, you can log in through that account to save your Wifi charges.

The shuttle is about $4 per person per day (cheaper if you prepurchase through Get Away Today.)

Personally, I like Hilton better, but be aware of the extra charges.

We stayed at the Hilton one night and walked back to the hotel after several hours in the park. It felt much longer than a mile at night when we were all exhausted.

The Toy Story lot is also about a block from the Hilton. We usually walk to the park and then take the shuttle back at night when our feet are tired. You still have to walk out of the parking lot and down a short block to the hotel, but it's shorter than walking all the way from DL and you get to sit and rest a bit on the shuttle. Probably doesn't save any time, but your feet might enjoy it.

We stayed at the Hilton in September and it is about a 20 minute walk from the hotel entrance to the turnstiles. We walk pretty fast as well so assumed it would be shorter (the hotel told us it was 20 minutes), but nope, pretty much exactly that! It wasn't an issue for us, but I could see how it would be for some.

You can also take the ART shuttle, which charges a each-way per person fee. We always walked and never took it, but the hotel recommended it. As ImDMous said, you can also walk across the street to the Toy Story lot and take the shuttle from there, which a lot of people do, I think.

Thanks everyone. I think we're staying at the hilton. Walking from the toy story parking lot after taking the shuttle is a great idea :)
