We're going for the Disneyland Half Marathon end of Jan/early Feb. Looks like this place should be a quick walk and pretty convenient. First trip to Disney West. Anyone stay here? Thoughts?

Hi! Stayed here many times. The walk looks quick….but it isn’t. Lol. Many of times we have wondered why we choose to walk back to this property at the end of the night. About halfway back we are over it. Haha. I would suggest either taking a ride share back at the end of the night. Or take a Toy Story parking lot bus and walk across harbor Blvd back to the Hilton. It will save your feet!! In the morning we usually are ok because our feet aren’t sore yet and we are excited to start our day! (There is also an ART stop close by)

Our last stay was in 2019, but we enjoyed it. This hotel is massive. One time we asked for a room away from the elevator and wow, was it a trek to our room. Lol. It was a very quiet room though. We love that it’s a full service hotel also. We really liked the pool area too.

Hope that helps!!

We really like this hotel, we Uber'd to and from though. It's set really far back from the road, we went across to the Toy Story lot one time when we were there but the Uber was just way more convenient.

Having a Starbucks in the lobby was really nice, the room was big, elevators fast, pretty much a good place to stay.

Stayed here for my Oogie Boogie Bash trip last year. I agree with the others that if you don't want to Uber, take the shuttle from the Toy Story lot as it's a much quicker walk than walking to the parks from there. Uber is also a good option though.

The hotel itself is absolutely MASSIVE, but a good choice if you don't mind that. I had heard they were getting some updates there, but even nearly a year ago, it was clean and overall good (at least our rooms were). Having a Starbucks on property is a bonus. And I can also recommend the restaurant that's in the lobby. My parents ate there one night for dinner and said it was fantastic. And then I grabbed some food to-go post-OBB and it was also delicious. (Honestly can't say the same for a lot of hotel restaurants, but this one is good.)

I have stayed here many times. The walk is a tad longer than ideal, but it's not bad. My secret is to cut down the alley by the parking garage. It's not really shorter, but it feels shorter. You also walk right by a CVS if you need to stop for something on the way out or back. Anyway, I find it reasonable.

*Full Disclosure: I work for Hilton and have to mention that since I am posting about one of our hotels.

The downside to all the convention hotels is the toy story lot moved the onboarding location to their new center a few years ago almost doubling the walk to it.

Hilton still a great hotel overall. Staying there for d23 🥰

Also double check the start location for the races. Last year they moved it to the east side so ironically those east side hotels were nicely situated along harbor.

If you a locked into a hilton, Hampton inn maybe worthwhile

Not locked in, just the price was far better. Don't really mine the walk. We won't know the course for quite a while unfortunately.

If you are looking to stay in a Hilton branded hotel, Home2Suites and the Hilton Garden Inn are much closer. The Home2Suites is relatively new and the walk to harbor security is about 10 minutes. There is a Panera on the route that you can mobile order breakfast from if you are a rope drop warrior. The Marriott Courtyard and the Fairfield Inn are even closer. The Fairfield is a bit tired but works well if you aren’t planning to spend much time in your room. The Courtyard is expensive but newer and has a big pool area for kids.

Do you work at the hilton anaheim property? I'm just curious of the recent reviews from stays about how the rooms are very outdated, not clean, some areas smelled like mildew or ac issues. So wondering if I should change hotels and lose out the con rate.

I do not work at the hotel, but for Hilton Corporate. I would not be able to comment on any such issues. I will say that the hotel is a pretty classic example of a Hilton and caters to business travellers for the convention center. The walk to DLR is pretty easy, though a little further than some properties.

Those recent reviews are accurate. We stayed there recently for WonderCon 2024

We only stay there during cons and it gets worse every year. By far the worst Hilton I've stayed at.

Agreed, and that's saying a lot given how the quality of Hiltons has declined over the years.

And I just want to point out that the musty/mildew smell and ac issues have been going on for at least 10 years. This is a property that has quite obviously given up on repeat business, knowing full well that no one will want to stay there more than once, but banking on a steady stream of new guests to keep filling up the rooms.

If you're looking to stay near the start line for the half-marathon, it's not a bad walk. Not super far away, but there are hotels that are closer.
I stayed at the Hilton a couple years ago, and it was very disappointing. I agree with @Iceman93 about the musty/mildew smell. It wasn't terrible, but I expected better from a Hilton hotel.

That's what I'm worried about. Yes I would like to save money but I would be so stressed to smell mildew, see dust and bugs. I know they are in the process of renovations. I keep looking at recent reviews and it's nowhere near 4 start at all. People are saying it's motel quality at this time. It's weird Hilton didn't do a great job with upkeeping. Also 20% charging on to go orders and restaurants too. They didn't bring back club level either.

Last time I stayed there, it looked old and dated. I checked out Marriott next door and it looked so much newer and fresher.

Hilton diamond. Let us checkin early for D23. Gave us pool deck upgrade and $30 daily food credit. Late.checkout for 1pm on Sunday helped too. Yes dated for sure. Still comfortable and food was very good at the bar.

Stayed there several times. No problems with mildew smells etc… My only complaint is with the food selections and limited hours on top of that. Arrived around 10 my last trip and had to survive on snacks from the gift shop

Was that a week night or off season? Because when I was there during OBB last year, I was able to order food at the bar at like 11:45 at night (restaurant closed at midnight, so I just barely got in there), and took it back to my room. That was a Sunday night in September.
