Hillary Supporters unite part 2; no bashing please

Saying you are about change and accomplishing the changes are two separate things. I don't think the house or senate will allow too many changes.

I, too, do not feel Obama is qualified to be president. And with the whole Rev Wright thing, I should say that I wasn't as much offended about the black/white thing. What bothered me was the anti American stuff said in that church. Obama attended that church for 20 years. No I don't think he should run our country.

Hi All,

I'm an independent who was hoping for Hillary. I'm very sad about how things have gone for her. I really admire and respect her strength and tenacity. I was originally an Edwards supporter, and I really feel he got a bad deal with media coverage. I was won over by Hillary and now am sad that it doesn't look good for her.

I hope for some miracle that will keep Hillary in this thing.

Mary

Hi Mary....welcome and agree:thumbsup2

First of all, that is not bashing. Take a look at the perfect straight line that preceded it and tell me anyone can ignore that (well anyone with a sense of humor anyway) ;)

Second (and this is the point), this is the Hillary thread where we Hillary supporters are supposed to have a sort of haven. What we say on this thread is sometimes offensive to OS. That's why we have this thread and you have your own. I would never dream of coming into your thread and trying to convince you that Obama is an idiot, a liar, and a racist. Yet your compatriots (I wont say you particularly because I frankly can't remember) do that all the time. See the difference?

:thumbsup2

And I do believe that all the Obama Mania has more to do with people filling some sort of Psych needs, and nothing to do with who can best be President. Especially during these extrodinary tough times.

Thats my 2 cents. you dont have to agree with it at all. But lets all be adults here and chat like adults.

Interesting you mention acting/chatting like adults but you don't happen to follow that at all in your posts on here.

I'll leave the thread as I don't want to cause any(more) trouble but I think your comment above was totally out of line. I'll put you on ignore so I don't have to read anymore of what you have to say since you don't add anything to the political dialogue with comments like this.

ETA: Looking forward to debating the issues that face this country in November with my fellow Democrats on the liberal blog.

Duly noted.

I agree with this completely!

Duly noted.
But In my defense, I did not use the term 'idiots"!!!! So please dont apply that to me.
Also, I will stick by my statement.
After being called many unfortunate names by OS supporters, I owe them nothing.

I am not looking to help the Obama Supporters at all. I do think they are doing a great diservice to our nation. I do know that based on his track record Obama is not capable of being a good president.

Whenever I (or any non OS supporter) tried to talk facts and experience, every OS supporter I have encountered on the Disboards has ran away from any questions or concerns. All I ever got was either Obama political slogans, or just how horrible Hillary is,or now "YOU ARE BASHING US":sad1: .

Whatever! Tough cookies! Thats real life getover it! :confused3

And I do believe that all the Obama Mania has more to do with people filling some sort of Psych needs, and nothing to do with who can best be President. Especially during these extrodinary tough times.

Therefore I do not think that Obama supporters are doing whats right for the country or the party, but mostly filling some self need for "Hero Worshipping" deep inside them.

As I said many times, Obama is not fit to be Dog Catcher, never mind President.

Thats my 2 cents. you dont have to agree with it at all. But lets all be adults here and chat like adults.

I used to think you were a good guy. I don't know, maybe the green hair dye got to you. Talk about filling some sort of "pysch" need. And you have the balls to say let's be adult here? You don't think BO is qualified, fine. But 'let's be adult' here and cut the rantings. I don't even seem to recall you ranting as much about Bush. Where does that put you then?
Whether you like him or not doesn't matter, he's here to stay, and Hil is not. Get over it.

The Hillary supporters are tired of being attacked, especially on our own thread. Maybe we're a little thin-skinned right now? Most of us have tried to stay here on our own turf...out of the way of some of the OS who were vocal against Hillary and against us for backing her. Many of us have had our feelings hurt when personal attacks were made on us, not on our candidate.

I don't have any problem with OS visiting here. You can't lump everyone together in the same group. The problem comes when some say mean things and then hang out on a thread with others who don't. There is a friend by association thing...but that goes both ways. I don't always approve of things said on this thread by Hillary supporters either. I don't really know why OS want to spend time here, but if they want to continue to visit and be civil and friendly, more power to them. It's unfortunate that some negative things are said here. I think it's because some of us are hurt. I hate for the friendly OS to be hurt by these things. I guess maybe some of the OS have hated for hurtful things to be said on their thread too, but until recently I hadn't heard that.

I think if we're ever going to come together we do need to be careful what we say. But the OS need to give us a little room right now and see we're sad and hurting. We don't need your lectures right now.

Typical OS response!

Just because someone doesnt agree with Obama, it is not a 'rant'!
Not only do I not think he is qualified, no one on the OS side can tell me why he is realistically qualified!

Again ...this is not a rant. And believe me, I wrote negative things about Bush just because you didnt see them dont make it so.

Until November, when he will be a also ran!

Apparently respect for boundries doesn't mean a thing to some people. Read the title of this thread. I personally have NEVER EVEN OPENED THE OBAMA THREAD! I would never have the nerve to post on it, their opinions are theirs and no one has a right to harass them for holding them. To come here, argue, them go away mad because *shock* someone disagrees with you is just plain odd. What are the Obama supporters so insecure about? If he's the guy why worry?

We are worried about the general election of course. If all the Hillary supporters sit this one out or vote for MCain we will have 4 more years of Bush, nothing changing with health care and more neocons appointed to the federal bench. We can't win this election without the Dems.

If Hillary gets the nomination and all the OS say they will not vote for her, then the Hillary supporters will be very worried as well.

The cons have much to rejoice about these days.

Thank you.

I too never posted over there, nor do I read there.
Obviously "rules" (perceived, written or applied) are for everyone but them.

Ya know the expression..."If you cant stand the heat.....Stay out of the Kitchen":thumbsup2

Keep in mind, I doubt if Obama can win the white house without the Hillary supporters.

So we may not have our canidate this election day, but we do have a say. Ron Paul is looking better and better.

Lets see, Obama belongs to a church that routinely bashes America(remember the term "God Dam America") and he is a long time associate of a man who has said that the terrorst should have done more (refering to 9/11). NO wonder why he wants to change America so much, He doesn't like it. I may not like what is happening with the economy or the war, but I love America.

You know, it's too bad that Obama Supporters can't put this whole thread on ignore since it bothers them so much. (sorry SOME of them)

Have you heard any of Michelles speeches?????:rolleyes1

And I believe Mrs Obama has stated that this is the first time she is proud to be an American. This dishonors my Dad who served in Vietnam and my Uncle who served in Korea. Along with the many others that served and protected this country from harm. Sorry, I want my president and first lady to be proud Americans.

I understand what you are saying, but bashing the folks here is not the way to heal wounds.

McCain has angered conservatives for years and has been an annoying fact of life for most Republicans for years. Why do you think the liberal news media used to love him so much? Until Obama came along McCain was their guy! Now of course they will have to do a Hollywood style re-casting and make him the evil Republican. Maybe Oliver Stone should be working on him instead of Bush?

I understand what you are saying, but bashing the folks here is not the way to heal wounds (not saying you have).

And McCain is hardly like Bush. The only thing they have in common is the label of Republican. McCain has angered conservatives for years and has been an annoying fact of like for most Republicans forever. Why do you think the liberal news media used to love him so much? Until Obama came along McCain was their guy! Now of course they will have to do a Hollywood style re-casting and make him the evil Republican. Maybe Oliver Stone should be working on him instead of Bush?

If I have to hold my nose and vote for someone, why shouldn't it be McCain rather than Obama? At least I know what McCain has done in the Senate for years and the enormous amount of bills he sponsored (most with solid bipartisan support). What has Obama done? Ever?

Umm, no. We liberals started to lose all respect for McCain when he started kissing up the the extreme Christian Right after he called them agents of intolerance. He has changed in the last several years and is no longer the thought of well by most liberals. He has moved closer and closer to Bush in the last few years and that has not gone unnoticed.

His lastest line about saying he will appoint more conservatives to the federal bench will make him look evil with out any help from media.

Jeffrey Toobin, Chief Legal Analyst on CNN predicts that if McCain wins, Roe vs. Wade will be overturned within one year. That's something for women and their daughters to be worried about.

Obama/Sebelius '08

Sounds like Jeffrey Toobin is trying to use a scare tactic. Sorry I do not see that happening.

I'm not going to pretend to know the exact moment everything started, but I will say that you've given every bit as good as you've gotten.

ETA: I was wrong. you haven't been in the Obama thread. However you have been in many contentious threads about Obama.

On both sides of this thing, there are a couple of specific posters that have been particularly strident and contentious, and you have been one of them on the Hillary side. I've bitten my tongue because you are funny and have been a source of valuable info most of the time. But frankly this is getting old. It's a vicious circle and it needs to stop.

I am not looking to help the Obama Supporters at all. I do think they are doing a great diservice to our nation. I do know that based on his track record Obama is not capable of being a good president.

I agree with you on that but here's the thing........ it's our opinion not a fact, The man doesn't have enough of a record to say with a certainty either way. So both points of view are equally valid.

Look I get how hard it can be. There was a discussion yesterday just about made my head explode for the total lack of logic and side stepping. But what do you think you are accomplishing by getting into these arguments? You're certainly not changing anyone's mind. Sometimes it's just better to get along then to be right. Use the ignore feature on those posters that really get to you. I did it yesterday for the first time ever on any message board and I can't tell you how much more pleasant it makes the boards.

Therefore I do not think that Obama supporters are doing whats right for the country or the party, but mostly filling some self need for "Hero Worshipping" deep inside them.

I agree that Obama is reaching some supporters on an emotional level, but to say that that's the only reason any of them support him is just as insulting as saying the only reason we support Hillary is because she's a woman or because she's white. Like it or not, agree or not they have their own reasons for supporting him - just as we have ours for supporting Hillary.
