The man, not the issues? I'm an issues voter. I'm not voting for Obama because I "trust" him or think he's humble or anything silly like that. I don't trust Hillary, I think she lies like any politician, I think she's arrogant, but I'd still vote for her if she were the Dem candidate. Why? Because she's on my side politically.

If you have reasons for voting for Hillary other than her stand on the issues, on policy, etc., then I suppose I could understand why Hillary's supporters aren't for Obama. But I tend to think most people who voted for her in the primary did so in part because they liked what she believed in.

The issues mean nothing to me if I vote for a candidate that I personally feel cant follow through. What good are all his policys to me than. Many may not have liked Hillary but many even conservatives believed she could do what she said she would. That is why so many Conservatives were afraid of Hillary getting the nom...and felt if she was picked as Obamas VP that the game was over for them.

We all have our reasons for voting for who we feel will bring us out of this mess.....some voted for Edwards, Richardson, Biden and so on....we chose Obama and Hillary. So what makes my or anyone else's decision to vote not for Obama any different than you not voting for any of the others.

I understand OS not getting why some will vote for McCain instead of Obama.....I do. But that is my ,or any others choice, and not yours or any other OS business. What you all need to do instead of insulting us over it you should do your best to convert us. But with honey not by a constant slap in the face.

You and most everybody else in the country! Most people really do vote on the "likeability/comfort" factor. Then they convince themselves that the 'issues" of that person is what they believe.

FYI, I didn't post this here and I am going to report this. This was posted to another thread and you had no business bringing it here.

If I wanted to bring this point, I would've done so myself.

Um calling the kettle black are you ....I recall when WV did that to me and took what I said here and posted it over in another thread to make a point using what I said instead of using his own words and said I was going to report it you were the first to jump all over me about how he had the right to post anywhere any time using my post or anyone elses'.

I even sent a complaint about how nasty you and WV were to me about it however the MOD said that there was nothing that could be done....

But that's how you roll!

So take it up with WV.

Things change. That's life.

yes your right it changes .....when it apply's to you...that's okay but not for anyone else. Why do you find things that you do ok but when others do the same thing it is so wrong. They have a word for that ...it's called Hypocritical.

Have a blessed day...if you can.

But I do not hate her. I just do not respect her. However, I am big enough to recognize that she would be infinitely better than John McCain as president, and as such, would happily vote for her over John McCain any day of the week.

You don't respect her? Then what was all the "i'm going to send an apology letter to her" -and a real mailed letter at that, email is too impersonal- about?

Honest question, because if you still see her in such unfavorable light, why apologize?

Because I don't hate her. I may not respect her, but some of the things I said about her, her campaign, and her supporters in the heat of the primary were at least less than respectful.

I may not respect her, but that doesn't mean that I don't apologize for my acts disrespect.

Anyone watching the votes being casted right know? The Roll call...wow CAlifornia passes the Roll Call...wow

PR – serious question about something you said earlier today about Hillary and the primaries. You’re ticked because she never gave the time of day to Puerto Rico until the primaries when she came for several days and spent time there. What, exactly, has Obama done for Puerto Rico? I do recall that they were upset with him because he showed up obviously for money and then left – didn’t give them the time of day. What makes Obama’s treatment of Puerto Rico so much better than Hillary’s?

:thumbsup2 I will listen to him on Thursday night, but I cant WAIT to see this Greece Stage they are talking about on the news!!!!! The media is making it sound like a DOOZEY!

I've seen pictures and a video of the stage. Bad, bad idea :sad2:

Some are saying that it isn't Greek, but a copy of the Capitol or White house - that'd be a little better, but not much

If it is an Acropolis, it's beyond ridiculous. If it's a copy of some American landmark it is tacky, tacky, tacky

Why is the need of that? Doesn't his campaign see that other than his die hard supporters, everyone thinks he is arrogant? Or is the stage a monument to his humility?

There are some OS (on another board) who are really upset at the stage. They see it as a HUGE mistake and don't understand why he is doing it

The reason may be a mistery for his supporters, but I think the rest of us get it.

Hillary Supporters,

come join us on the love train :D

Listen... I'm in a good mood, so I'm gonna get to the gist, make my point, and get it over with.

Hillary had from 1992, when the Bill Clinton presidential campaign started to get to PR. She waited until she was into her senatorial campaign to arrive in PR, and then it was just for the pictures.

I do not agree with Obama having shown up for a fundraiser, but that is part of reality. The Hillary supporters held plenty of fundraisers for her in PR. Obama had a grand total of 2 fundraisers in Puerto Rico that I know of.

Obama's treatment of Puerto Rico. When he was here, he treated us with respect, he attempted to speak to us in our language (albeit poorly :lmao: His spanish is awful!), and frankly: He's from a tropical island separated from the mainland with its own unique culture, one that is prone to shortages of supplies at time and higher prices for the same supplies at all times, and prone to inclimate weather and seismic activities. He can empathize with us, he knows where we are coming from.

Hillary knows Puerto Ricans... definitely. Puerto Ricans from New York that are separated from the island by at least 1 generation, 1 language, 1500 miles, and a completely different culture. Unfortunately, she doesn't know Puerto Ricans from Puerto Rico.

I haven't even read this whole thread nor have I posted on any political thread on the DIS in all my years here. I feel compelled to post here and just share how proud I am of Hillary. I just watched the roll call and it was amazing. I had tears in my eyes. To be a witness to history being made is fantastic. I am sad that she will not be the democratic nominee but I am filled with pride at how she has conducted herself. I will gladly join in with backing Obama and voting for him to be our next president.
