Hillary Clinton hospitialized

Oh, so I have a "background" now according to you. Let's see I have nearly 2,000 posts on here and you choose 1 of them to attach to this and label me. Yep, that seems fair and logical. That's definitely a pattern.

I think perhaps you're misunderstanding what SaraJayne meant by "background". :flower3:

Not that you have a background, but that she would like to see more background information on the story you posted, such as the source of the info.

Obama was elected nearly TWENTY YEARS after his first election to state senate. :confused3 It's an arbitrary dateline from a random event having nothing to do with the pace of their current jobs.

Yes, but Obama is 51 years old. Hillary is 65 which would make her 69-73 for the next presidency. That would make her the oldest president ever next to Ronald Reagan who never had as hectic and exhausting a life as she has had.

I'm not putting her down for it - simply pointing out that such high profile jobs aren't going to get any easier, and in the meantime she continues to get older and older.

At her age, if a break is needed, it's probably best to make it permanent.

Permanent? What are you suggesting she do? Nothing? That's... not going to happen. She's like 64, she's not going to spend the rest of her life watching HGTV. She's got to do something.

I believe Clinton said he was looking forward to down time/a break following his presidency. He took one. Then he went back to work.

People take time off; doesn't mean they quit life.

:confused3 Imagine ANYONE after eight years as president. It's a hard job - but it has much less travel than her current one. Yes, I'd presume she'd need a break if she spent eight years as president. Same as every president I can recall - which one hasn't said they're looking forward to down time?

More travel or not, I'm not buying the notion that her job is somehow more taxing than President. She's had a tough 4 years and is spent. I don't expect an even older version of herself to be in any kind of shape to take on another tough 8 years.

As for the year reference, I'm simply pointing out how long she's really been since she really was who most people are picturing when they dream of her return to the WH.

Something is definitely going on that the public is unaware of. Chelsea Clinton was seen leaving the hospital visibly distraught, picture can be viewed on TMZ.

Whatever is going on, I wish Mrs. Clinton well.

I don't see why it needs to be anything more than it is. I remember bursting into tears after visiting my Dad when he was hospitalized for a gallbladder attack. I was 100% sure that he would recover, no doubt at all, but it was SO upsetting to see my normally strong, active father look so weak and sick and frail and uncomfortable. It rocks you to your core to see a parent so sick.

Given that Hillary seems to have the constitution of an ox, it must have scared the heck out of Chelsea to see her Mom in a hospital bed, hooked up to IVs, etc. I would have been distraught, too.

Never said she has to do nothing. I'm saying she needs a permanent break from jobs that require THAT much of her.

So second-oldest. :confused3 He also was born far before she; lifespans and quality of lives have been increasing in most first-world nations pretty steadily in general.

If she runs and people feel she's too old, then they won't elect her. However, two party nominees since Reagan have been older than she (and had far more health concerns), so her age, is clearly not seen as rendering one unelectable or even close. She's also a woman, statistically likely to live longer than an equivalent male.

As to the first bolded, I don't know what to say except - 'really?' I think the president would disagree.

As to the second, I have no idea where you get that either honestly, that's a really weird take, to me.

I have no idea what it being 24 years after Clinton was elected has to do with anything, that's so arbitrary. It's not like being first lady was some taxing job, and she's been working the assembly line since his election. It's been 33 years or whatever since Chelsea was born! I mean what's that got to do with anything?

Obama was elected 11 years after his first election to state senate. 20 years before being elected president he was entering law school.

Are you kidding? It's not like she went into hiding after she became first lady. She's been constantly in the public eye since becoming SOS, and we're perfectly aware of Hillary these days. In fact, I'm pretty sure that her current image is what more people see when they "picture" her, since that image is more prevalent than the onefrom her First Lady days.

I -for one- hope for a quick and complete recovery, and would love to see her run and WIN!

No offense to anyone but i dont think that poster misunderstood SJ. I read it the same way.
I could also be wrong, but it sounded likeshe was giving "background info" onthat poster by bringing up another post she made.:confused3

But like i said, i could be wrong too. But that is how I read it.

the personal bashing here is despicable, so uncalled for..why the personal attack? Why cant someone post what "they" know/believe or simply comment without being ambushed..
Play nice :surfweb:....:rotfl:

regardless ...I wish her a speedy recovery and "someday" maybe we'll get the full story.....
Godspeed Mrs Clinton! :wizard:

Never said she has to do nothing. I'm saying she needs a permanent break from jobs that require THAT much of her.

I think that is for her to decide as she knows best. Thanks for stating your opinion, though.

At her age..... seriously????? And this is why older individuals are often let go, not promoted, or not hired and the reason why labor laws exist.

Hoping that Mrs. Clinton heals quickly pixiedust:

The Secretary was just released from the hospital. She walked out, down the stairs, got into the car, with Chelsea and Clinton, all smiling.

According to reports, she has not been released. Those reports were wrong.

UPDATE: Early reports mistakenly saying Hillary Clinton was released from hospital have been confirmed to be untrue.

From NBC news twitter feed...

Ok, well, I watched her walk down the steps, with Chelsea and Clinton, and get into a waiting car.

If she wasn't released, she's gone someplace for some time period for some reason. :confused3
