Highway traffic Thanksgiving weekend MCO to WDW?

Hi!

Does anyone remember from previous years how bad the highway traffic might be from MCO to WDW on Thanksgiving weekend mid-day Saturday? Are we talking bumper to bumper? Moderately crowded? Not too bad?

I am trying to save $ by taking Mears for the two of us (yes, I know how bad they can be) and am thinking if traffic is very bad that weekend and we have to make the usual stops at other resorts, it will take quite a long time to get to our resort. I would dread going thru major traffic jams in a Mears van.

On our last trip, the Mears driver was telling us about the major traffic jams from MCO to WDW during Christmas and New Years week. I remember being glad I was not going to be there then.

If you take 417 the Greeneway from the airport to WDW you shouldn't have any trouble with traffic. Tolls are $2

I wouldn't use I-4 or the Beeline.

Thanks for the reply. Hmmm, not sure, but I think Mears uses I-4. I guess it gets pretty bad?


I just might spring the extra $ for a town car.
