We are back!
Arrived home at approx. 9.30pm after some very nifty connections which was good as we were all shattered!
Quick highs and lows while still fresh, will do a full report with some photos soon
First - the lows!
To be honest there weren't many! Those that I did have were only minor and mostly not the fault of the parks, just things that happen....
Plaza Gardens - probably the biggest low, looked lovely and we were sat in our own little section with view of the castle BUT the selection of food was poor and it was just about warm. Food wasn't horrible but it was a struggle to find something we fancied, it's saving grace for the kids was that they offered chips! Disappointed as had it in my head that this was a nice place to eat.
No Woody or Rapunzel - little bit disappointed that we didn't see them but either they just weren't around or we kept missing them. We did see plenty of other princesses and Buzz and Jessie though.
'Losing' daughter's Woody hat - I won't say someone pinched it, but one minute it was on the buggy .... next it had vanished with no wind or other natural disaster to blame it on ..... however daughter was pleased with her Goofy cowboy replacement
Highs!
Well the whole holiday was a high but just a few things that stood out ....
Characters - all were SO brilliant! Special mentions go to Gaston, Cruella Deville, Snow White in the Pavilion, the Café Mickey characters and Stitch!
Annettes Diner! - We almost didn't bother as stupidly assumed the fact you didn't need to book meant it wouldn't be good .... well we really enjoyed our meal there! Kids loved the roller skating waiter and the design of the place, plus the food was tasty and filling!
The weather! - We went expecting pouring rain and arctic winds .... what we got was blue skies, just a few showers and even some sunshine!
Eurostar - spare seats there and back which was nice, especially as we hadn't bought my 3 year old a seat and this meant she got one anyway.
Café Mickey - Café Mickey is getting a separate review as it was a mixed bag for me personally.
Lows - service was slow, had to remind them about both my starter and my eldest's main. Another member of our party's startedrwas luke warm BUT second offering was much better and food came quickly after we reminded them. No bread for the table and I forgot to ask until it was too late. Oh and I got snapped at when I mistook the 'receptionist' for a waiter (they all wear the blooming same!)
Highs - We were sat at one of the round tables in the main part of the restaurant so got lots of character interaction, although to be fair I did see them go into the conservatory quite a bit as well. The characters were brilliant, we saw Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Tigger and Goofy. Mickey and Pluto came round a few times, Minnie only got to us once but when she did she made such a fuss of my youngest it made her day! The food (when it came) was decent and filling, none of us could finish! Overall we were glad we went there, although if (when!) we go again we may try Inventions instead so we can compare properly.
And that's it
Had a great time and now drinking tea out of my DLP mug and wondering when we can next go back
Thanks for reading x
