Just got back from the best trip we've ever had at Disneyland Paris (and we've had alot) I don't post very often but just wanted to let you all know there really is still lots of magic out there.
Cast :- Me (Liz) very nearly 40
DH (Nick) 40
DD (Cicely) she was 7 whilst we were there
DS (Kaspar) 4
Highs
After much deliberation we decided on staying at the SL (I just couldn't justify spending all that money on the DLH) we booked a lake view room but when we checked in we were told our room was on the ground floor, she did mention it was a bigger room so I thought I'd take a look before complaining that we wouldn't be able to see the lake from the there, when we got to the room much to our surprise we had been upgraded to a suite
It was about 4 times as big as a normal room and had 2 bathrooms, obviously I never complained
We were due to get our VIP shareholder fastpass on the Tuesday however Monday night I realised I had left my shareholder card back at home in my other purse
We went to Salon Mickey on the Tuesday morning and not only did I still get my fastpasses but they gave me a temporary paper card to use for discounts and I didn't even have to ask.
The CM's were wonderful everyone was very helpful and friendly.
Captain Jack Sparrow was amazing, after chasing him round as my DS was desperate to see him and queuing for ages, the interaction was wonderful, I have the lovliest photo of him and my son talking and laughing, he then got hold of my earrings and said "nice loot"
Breakfast at DLH, my DD asked to do this on her breakfast, the food was lovely but even better, when we went to pay for it we were told we didn't have to pay, it was a gift for Cicely's Birthday.
The princess makeover, DD had this on her Birthday, she chose to be Tiana, she looked beautiful and got so much attention, it was definitely worth every penny.
Auberge, the kids both had a great time and it was lovely to see the princess and mice, however although DH and I had a wonderful dinner the childrens meal really isn't very child friendly.
The Blue Lagoon, the best meal DH & I had whilst we were there, again the children's meals are odd, I don't know any children that would eat cherry toms and palm of hearts salad!!
The weather was fabulous, if not a little too hot, we just drank lots, wore hats and sunglasses and went at a bit slower pace.
Pluto in our hotel was just great with Kaspar, he used his head to sign his book, licked him and then because Kaspar was laughing so much he started to tickle him and ended up on the ground with him tickling him, it was lovely to watch and Kaspar hasn't stopped talking about it.
Disney Dreams, I cried, it is ..... I don't think there are words to describe how good it is. DH says after seeing that I can't possibly expect him to go to the Legoland fireworks this year, there is just no comparison.
Lows:
We ate in Inventions on the first night and were really disappointed, we always eat in Cafe Mickey but decided this time we would try Inventions instead, the food was ok but the atmosphere was none existent, I wouldn't do it again.
DLH it was a toss up whether to stay here or go back to the SL, I'm so glad we chose the SL, I definitely prefer the atmosphere in the SL.
I think thats it - Oh apart from the normal pushing, shoving, smoking and swearing that you get from other people.
It really was the best trip we've ever done, DD cried on our last day as we were leaving the park, she was so desperate to stay.
DH has said this is our last visit to DLP for a good few years, however my DD has already asked if we could sneak in a cheeky little visit next year "maybe without dad knowing!"
