Is mid-70s still warm enough in Florida to wear a dress or shorts? I can bring a jacket too. Was expecting warmer weather next week, but alas, it was not meant to be. I'm trying to avoid bringing a ton of clothing.

Only asking because people always say it "feels" colder in Florida. 😄

It's a matter of opinion. For me, if the sun is fully out, then yes it's good. If it's shady, then I need a sweater. I would just bring a sweater or jacket that is easy to fold up when you carry around.

Former NY er here currently living in North Florida for the past 2 years and it is still pretty warm during the day. Definitely still short weather, dresses and sandals. Bring layers so you can take off as it warms up. I wear a light sweater or jean shirt to work in the early am but its not needed once the sun comes up.

thanks!

As long as my upper body is warm at night with a jacket, my bare legs can handle it. If it's really cold I'll just change to pants.

I am wearing leggings and short sleeves, covered by a sweatshirt in the morning. I can tie that around my waist later. The sun seems hotter there than where I live. I also have a windbreaker that folds into a small ziploc bag, easily fits into a very small purse. Nights may require an alternative to cover your legs, so consider a few single pieces to mix and match. Dresses and shorts will feel great if you live in a cooler climate.

I come from cold! 70s here is definitely dress weather. 😀

I do have leg warmers I can put in my husbands backpack if I know we won't be stopping back at hotel before evening. Will look kind of silly, but if I'm that cold, who cares right?

One of the great things about WDW is the variety of people and what they wear. I learned to choose comfort over style, which blends in well. The leggings in a backpack is the perfect solution. I see some rain on Monday, so I will bring a couple of ponchos, too! Have fun.

I wouldn't bet on that "mid 70's" forecast holding. I'd pack and prepare for warmer weather, the forecast that far out is notoriously inaccurate and mostly based on past historical averages and Orlando has been exceeding the historical average high temperatures by quite a bit the last few years.

With that said, mid 70's in Orlando is lovely and probably ideal theme park weather if you actually get it (I'd do shorts and t shirts during the day and have a light jacket or sweatshirt for the evenings). The humidity makes it feel warmer than it is. I am extremely skeptical that you will actually see highs in only the mid 70's next week though. For comparison, today's high is 87.

Edit: I'm looking at the accuweather forecast and I'm not seeing mid 70's. It has low 80's as the high for next week. Make sure you put in the city of Bay Lake or Lake Buena Vista as your forecast area, not Orlando.

If the high is in the 70s, the low looks to be in the 50s. To me, that is a jacket in the AM and PM with short sleeves in the afternoons. How cold would your legs be at 60?

Those lows in the 50's will be hit around 4 or 5 am. It'll stay in the 70's or at worst high 60's till theme park close if the high temp during the day is the mid 70's

Again though, the odds of that being the actual high temperature in late October in Disney World are very very low unless the day is a washout and the rain is keeping the temperature down. It's very likely going to be warmer than that.

I was looking at the WESH 10 day and it shows next Thurs/Fri w/highs of low 70s. It's Orlando though and I can't seem to change to Lake Buena Vista.

I'll keep an eye on it until we leave!

This is what accuweather has for the City of Bay Lake Next Week:

Monday: High 84 / Low 65
Tuesday: High 84 / Low 63
Wednesday: High 83 / Low 62
Thursday: High 80 / Low 58
Friday: High 79 / Low 64
Saturday: High 80 / Low 59
Sunday: High 79 / Low 61

And I am skeptical that even those high 70's end up being real. Any forecast more than a week out, especially in Florida, is not worth much if anything.

It depends on what you find comfortable. I often see people out in public wearing shorts while others have on a sweater. Even in the summer I find Disney restaurants to be cold and they often have the AC turned up to max. I think it is good planning to take a variety of clothing wherever you are vacationing.

If you setout early in the day, you might find the morning to be cool but then it warms up later. You can always remove a sweater or light jacket if that happens. Much better then not having that option and being chilled until it warms up.
