Hi,

We are back from our trip and since I got a lot of help from people on here before we went I thought I should post our best and worst bits.

Highs
Dreams - it was stunning. We stood to the left of the castle, by the entrance to Adventureland. I think if you had to stand at one of the sides then this is the best one.
Weather - we went expecting rain and more rain but it was warm and sunny with only an odd shower on the Wed morning.
HNY - we had a lovely huge room overlooking the lake. We kept running around it as it was sooo big!
Lack of queues - we really didn't seem to queue that long for anything and quite often just walked straight on or got to stay on for two goes.
Cafe Mickey - had a good meal and DD got to meet loads of characters and get their autographs.
Parade - thought it was really good and DD got a wave from Tiana (her fav princess!)

Probably lots more highs, in fact we really had a great time and loved so much of it.

Lows
Auberge de Cendrillon - DD got to meet 3 princesses, a prince and 2 mice so she was so pleased and I guess that was the main thing but was so disappointed about the food for her especially considering how expensive it was. She is a veggie and couldn't have the starter or main courses on offer. I phoned the dining reservation no. before we went and was reassured there would be a veggie option and also checked with concierge in our hotel and they said that same. However, was not the case. She got the most disgusting tomato soup for starter that they didn't even put in a bowl, just left it in the plastic dish. Her main was a plate of plain pasta, no sauce, nothing. :furious: Saw a few other kids with the same. Can't help but think that it wouldn't be that hard to have a pot of sauce in the kitchens to put on pasta. Like I said, DD was happy and meeting princesses was the main thing but as a parent paying that money, I was really unimpressed.
My feet - not a serious low but my feet were killing me after 4 days :lmao:

Overall, we had a fab time. When can we go again? :rotfl2:

Sounds like you had a great time. So pleased that your DD had a fab time too.

Thanks for the advice of where to stand for Dreams.

Think having aching feet after a few days at DLP is standard!

Glad to hear you had such a fab time, but this definitely warrants a complaint :scared1:

Welcome back :goodvibes We're just back too and also stayed at HNY - rooms are lovely.

I loved Dreams too - and we were lucky with weather. I'd have complained about Auberge too I think - too much money to not have a good time.

Sounds like you had a great time overall :)

Welcome back :wave2: glad to hear so many highs although I too think you should write a letter of complaint about your DD's meal in Auberge. I know DLP is not the best at considering veggie options but a plate of plain pasta is taking it to new limits.

Glad you had a great time and didn't let the food they gave you at Auberge spoil your experience. I would complain if I were you, it is something you could perhaps shrug off if the meal didn't cost much but for the cost of Auberge you would expect far better service.

Welcome back :)

Glad you had a fabulous trip overall.

Sorry to read about Auberge, we've booked to do it on our next trip and I'm already bracing myself for not much food being eaten (it will be our 3rd trip there but the menu has changed significantly from our last trips - and for the worse in our opinion!). As you say, it's about the experience but you double checked beforehand and were told there would be a suitable option for your DD - a plain plate of pasta is not a suitable alternative for that kind of money! :(

You should definitely write a letter of complaint about it.

Glad it didn't spoil your DD's experience there though :thumbsup2.

Welcome back! :goodvibes Glad you had a great trip!

I would agree with the others about Auberge, you should make a complaint. ::yes:: I'm sure your DD wasn't bothered but it's certainly not value for money in a restaurant of that standard.

Yep, sore feet come as part of the package !! :rotfl:

Oh dear. When they told me there was a vegetarian pasta option for kids I certainly didn't think they meant dry pasta. :sad2:

I agree with the others, you should write a complaint. That meal is about the experience, but that is no excuse for everything.
