Hi, been reading these boards for ages now and thought i'd post highs and lows from my most recent visit. (Not that there were any real lows!) I (very nearly 23) took my brother (20) and mum (49), all big kids, for my fifth trip and their fourth.
Highs
Hotel New York - First time staying here, lovely hotel and it was great to be a couple of minutes walk from the parks and village, especially at the end of the day! I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
Having drinks in the Disneyland Hotel - Such a great atmosphere. It was a nice place to relax, with the pianist in the background, plus the cocktails were amazing.
Riding the Dumbos for the first time - In all my previous visits i'd never got round to this, usually due to the long queues during the day and spending EMH riding Space Mountain over and over, so we made a point of making sure we got on it this time round. It didn't disappoint!
Dreams - AMAZING! I had been avoiding watching it on youtube since April, and it was worth the wait. We managed to get a good spot next to the revolving Discoveryland sign/statue about 45 minutes before it started.
Fantillusion - We sat up on the wall outside Bella Notte and couldn't believe how quiet it was compared the the crowds on Main Street. There was one row of people in front of us stood against the rope but even then there were gaps, so we had a great view.
Lows
Crowds - We were expecting it to be busy with it being summer holidays but I think the heat made them feel a lot worse. It was quite quiet Tuesday evening when we arrived so we managed to get a lot done then and with EMH, fastpass and some tips i picked up here we did everything we wanted to do.
Some guests - Nothing major here, just noticed the usual attitudes of some people during parades and Dreams but the Cast Members seemed to handle this quite well.
Eurostar having to stop for about an hour in France on the way home due to a broken down train on the line - luckily we were getting a taxi from the station so it didn't matter too much but it wasn't great being stuck on a very hot train for longer than necessary.
Leaving - I'm sure i was more upset about going home than any of the children in our train car!
Overall it was a great trip, being three adults meant we could take things slowly and having been so many times there wasn't pressure to make sure we rode everything.
