OH, myself and dd (7yrs), staying at the Newport Bay.
We weren't expecting much, after a disappointing visit a few years ago, but am pleased to say that it was much better this time.
Highs
DD doing BTM and loving it, also Crushes coaster.
Me finally doing TOT - with our 7 year old!!!
Dreams - had a great spot 2nd night right in the middle by the grass.
Food at both Cafe Mickey and Blue Lagoon - excellent (will write on the restaurant boards).
Cleanliness of the parks generally, compared to last time.
Staying on Pirates with dd late one evening and going around twice more. Walk on BTM at the same time and riding as getting dark.
Breakfast in the Park, very relaxed.
The person at Newport Bay who handed by Debit card in that I dropped in the lobby.
Lows
The appaling weather - rain, rain and more rain (I know not Disneys fault
)
The cost of food generally, especially snack food i.e. burgers/fries etc. we had Dining Plus and it was definately worth it.
Pushing for the Parades, adults shoving children out the way, or blocking their view, when they would so easily be able to see over their heads.
People filming parades on mobiles, hands in the air, in front of kids faces, who were being carried by adults.
Waiting for Dreams on 12th. Parade had finished and there was a long wait. It was pouring with rain, kids were crying as they were freezing and tired. Disney kept saying 'in a few minutes the amazing show......', but it didn't happen. I realise there may have been technical difficulties, but people started to leave. If there was a hitch they should have said, if not, common sense should have prevailed and they could have started a llittle early or at least on time. Not at all magical, but sad to see so many disgruntled people and upset children.
The CM at NPB Concierge, who wouldn't ring Blue Lagoon, to say we were running late 10 minutes, as we still had to get the bus from the hotel, I ended up ringing reservations in France on my mobile, being put through and speaking direct to Blue Lagoon, who were perfectly happy to hold it - we were 15 mins. late.
Queuing for nearly an hour for Slinky - dd was desperate
, for a 47 second ride.
Never getting on Hotwheels, as queue always more than 70 minutes and no fast pass.
Rock n Roller being closed.
Whilst we were there, we saw a couple of CM (looked like marketing), going around with an Ipad, asking people what they thought of designs on a couple of laminated sheets. They didn't ask us, but I could see one was something relating to 'retro Paris', wonder if they are thinking of a new resturant, hotel or ride?
Generally though, we were pleasantly surprised. I think things have definately improved in the last few years, it felt more like Disney this time and CM's had very definately improved their attitude.
