Our family of 5 had the dining plan and I can't imagine going without it! We got our $$ worth out of it! We didn't find any of our meals to be wonderful, but we'd still have been paying full price had we not purchased the DDP. With that said, Planet Hollywood was by far the best food we had! We also noticed the snacks our kids were interested in, mini donuts, croissants, etc. always seemed to "not be covered".... I think all the stands throughout the world should be INCLUDED!

I think me and DW are addicted to the DDP (4 trips in a row now). I can't see going to say Le Cellier and pulling out $90+ to pay for the meal. Just pull out the card and you are covered. And I don't think we could now go to the MK and not go to at least 4TS restaurants, and I don't think it would be as fun going not already having your ADR's made months in advance, that is now part of our trip, picking restaurants and making the ADR's.

I loved the Dp..simply having pretty much everything( excepttips) covered ahead of time was great budgeting. We used each and everyone of our credits too.

We won't even go without it we love it so much. We make it part of the excitement or making the reservations too by looking at the menus and juggling things around to make sure we get to go everywhere (almost) we want to go to. We are trying the DxDP this time around in January...can't wait!

This makes me happy to hear! If you don't mind me asking hwo old are your children? I'm concerned about my almost 3yo not being on the plan...

We really enjoy the Deluxe plan as well - don't care for the regular plan as we don't like CS meals at all. That being said, we always ate at least 2-3 TS meals each day, before the plan, so now with the Deluxe plan, we eat the way we are used to and we save money, especially with our young daughter as the kids' price on the deluxe plan is great! We don't care for many of the kids' meals though, so we love sharing our appetizers with our kids and it works out very well. Don't much use the mugs as we don't drink pop, so we don't factor this into our savings, but we love the snack credits (many times we use them for water, fruit or ice cream) as well. The only downfall is that if someone were to get ill, that could be a problem as some credits would probably be lost.

Happy eating to us all, Tiger :)

Your "almost 3" year old will be free at the buffets. At table service restaurants, you can either buy something for her from the children's menu or allow her to eat some of your meal. If she eats like most kids, it's not a problem at all.

My daughter was 2 and 1/2 when we used the DDP in January. It was no problem at all. We didn't even eat at any buffets, but between my plate and my husbands, she had plenty of food. We have 4 other children too so she could share with them if she wanted kid food. Even their portions were big enough to share.

We love the DDP too!! I do think the deluxe would be way too much food for us, especially the snacks. We are DVC members now and all future trips will be 10 nights, and there are 4 of us. I can't even imagine what we would do with 80 snack credits PLUS 3 meals daily!! The regular plan works great for us, with a couple of character breakfasts paid OOP. Paying OOP for those does not bother us at all because it is still WAY less than paying for the deluxe plan, and we do not need all the food on the deluxe plan. We saved a lot of money on the basic DDP this past July. It worked well within our original dining plans and so it worked for us. Although it does not work for everyone and not everyone likes it. We will keep getting it as long as it is available! We will still love going to WDW even if they do away with it! And yes, we would still eat at the same Disney restaurants because we love the food and they are right there!!

I totally agree. For my family, the deluxe would mean a lot of wasted food. But I can barely think of going back without buying the plan. Not only did we not worry about the cost of the food we were ordering, but we were more likely to try new things. (Basically, we were getting so much food every day that we knew we could always get something else if necessary.) :)
