Just got back from Florida yesterday. Stayed at OKW from May 28th to June 5th on Old Turtle Pond. Had a 1 bedroom this time. The only problem was having only 1 bathroom for 4 people. We will always stay in a 2 bedroom or larger from now on unless it's just the two of us. Had a wonderful time as usual (our 10th trip).
Although the fires were still burning in areas off I-4, it wasn't a problem for us while we were at Disney. Only smelled smoke briefly one day. The rains came while we were there so it helped to eliminate the problems people had with ash and smoke the week before.
Taking advice from this site (thank you) we made priority seating for Rose & Crown at United Kingdom for dinner and to watch Illuminations. Our PS was for 6:50PM and at the podium requested outdoor seating. No problem, it was only a 15 minute wait to get it. The food and service were excellent and the view was spectacular. I would recommend this to everyone. We also wanted to see the new Animal Kingdom Lodge. Since it was closed to the public (except for lodging and meal reservations) we again took your advice and made a breakfast reservation at Boma. Breakfast was wonderful (both American & African food). You must visit this place. It is beautiful and the people are so excited to tell you about their country.
The rest of our trip was typical of a Disney vacation, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Studios, Animal Kingdom, Downtown Disney.
The only regret I have is not staying longer. We love Disney World and being a DVC member allows us the opportunity to go back year after year.
