DH and I enjoyed a trip to WDW 11-4 to 11-9. This was the first time in 22 years it was just the two of us. Every aspect of the vacation: travel, hotel, restaurants, parks, transportation, weather, was absolutely perfect. I cannot think of any complaints. Things may not have been exactly as expected or planned every time, but any experienced diser can deal with those minor things.

Thursday 11-4-04.... Typical travel morning. Every thing departed on time. Had a very bad breakfast bagel sandwich at the airport. We packed very light this trip, so there was no checked luggage. We had three small carry-ons between the two of us. A great time saver when rushing to get started on your park visit.

Arrived in Orlando at 11:10am (right on time). To National Rental at 11:25. Left the rental place at 11:45 and arrived at All Star Sports by 12:15. We were making great time. Waited at check-in line about 5 minutes. Received room 1226 in Surf building, 2nd story. I was so happy the room was ready for us. We dumped our bags and caught a bus for EPCOT. There was only about a five minute wait for the bus. I had no expectations for the room assignment. This really helps when trying to avoid disappointment.

I was getting concerned that everything was going too well. Would somthing have to go wrong? No it does not!! A good attitude really helps when traveling.

Upon arriving in Epcot, we went directly to Nine Dragons in China. We were hoping to meet our favorite waiter, Fonse, however he was not working that day. None the less, our lunch was fantastic. DH had KungBoa chicken (very spicy) and I had Signapore Noodles with shrimp. We tossed in a couple of appetizers and ended up spending about $42.00 for lunch.

DH and I did splurge on our dining budget this trip. We were used to feeding four (two were hungry teen age boys). So this time we were going to try all the places that were not in our budget in the past.

After lunch we thoroughly explored world showcase. In the past, we would just do a walk through the countries. This time we stopped and actually enjoyed it.

We saw the Japan candy lady. She was amazing! The animal shapes she created were unbelievable. She drew quite a crowd. We saw British Invasion in the UK and also Off Kilter in Canada. Saw the statues in Italy also. We sampled some Food & Wine offerings and then saw a well know country singer (Blake Shelton) in concert in the American theater. DH is really into country music, so he thought this free concert was great.

We did some more exploring and set our sites on seeing Illuminations that evening. About 30 minutes early we found a spot between Mexico and Norway. There were three children in front of us by the railing and we stood directly behind them. This should have been a great view..... right?

Well about 10 minutes before show time, my DH went to get a soda. While he was gone I was suddenly surrounded by this spanish speaking family of six people. DH had trouble finding me when he returned. He finally managed to stand next to me again after fighting his way through the other family. Once the show started, the children on the rail spread out a little leaving a six inch gap. One member of the spanish family shot to the rail and four other family members immediately stood behind him. At this point we could see nothing. DH and I chose to leave before Illuminations was over figuring we would catch it another night. (sadly we did not). Although that was a bad experience, I was fully prepared for it by other stories I have read on these boards. Inconsiderate people are everywhere.

We were back to our room by about 10:15pm. We had been up since 4:00am, so sleep was important at this point.

Tomorrow is Magic Kingdom Day. I can't wait!!!!!

stand for two hours waiting for a parade or fireworks and then have someone come in and stand there....I did ask someone to move and told them we were there for two hours to be up front ......they looked at us like we were nuts...but some other people told them too....so I was not alone....thank you so much for your report
