Highchairs/Covers at WDW

We're getting set for our trip and had a couple last minute things I was wondering about.

The main one is if I should bring the high chair covers (the ones that double as the shopping cart covers). They're handy b/c you can snap on toys and so on, but I wasn't sure of the type of high chairs at WDW (just never noticed them before!). If they are the kind with trays, I probably don't need the covers. Anyway, the covers are kind of bulky, but if everyone else seems to use them, I could bring them along.

Also, we only have two meals at TS spots, are there high chairs at the CS spots as well? Or should we plan on the kids eating in the stroller?

Thanks! I'm sure more things will come up as the trip gets closer.

None of the TS places we ate at had trays on their high chairs, so I would think a chair cover would work OK on them. I didn't notice high chairs at very many of the CS places, so we usually used the stroller for meal times. Harbor House had high chairs, if I remember correctly, but I didn't see them anywhere else. I didn't bring a chair cover (didn't have space in the luggage)- I just brought my own wipes and wiped it down really well before I put the baby down.

The high chairs are the same regular wooden ones that most places have. I did not take our chair cover because it is so bulky. I did not want to mess with it. I just took wipes or lysol wipes. (Just make sure they dry completely if you use the lysol ones.)

Actually, at the CS places, most are bigger grey high chairs on wheels. Don't know if the cover would work. I agree with PP and just wipe them down. The cover takes up too much room.

I agree that those type covers take up too much room, but I just bought something like this kind at Walmart for our trip...

http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=10&e=product&pid=32176#product-details

It was $10, has hoops for toys, and comes with a little storage bag and is easy to tote along, and it covers all the icky surfaces.

Personally, I think those seats are really germy and I use a cover all the time. I'm sure wiping them off Lysol wipes or something similar would be OK, but I feel better when they seat is covered!

How did the cover from Walmart turn out?

I think it worked on every seat we used. It won't really work on the hard plastic seats, but fits the wood ones perfectly. From what I remember, all the restaurants we ate at had the wood kind, and it covers all the surfaces the baby might touch.

If we have to use a plastic one, I just try to wipe down the seat as best as I can.

I have one of the covers mentioned above and they work great, but I didn;t really use it. I did buy these http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3029063 and found them to ba wonderful. You can puch the high chair right up to the table and these are great because most of the time the baby;s hands are on the table and not the high chair. You can just put some cereal or crackers right on the table.

Oh my gosh, I can't stand to watch kids eat off the table! :headache: I wouldn't eat off a restaurant table, so why would my kid!?

We have this table mat, and we love it...

It has suction cups to attach to the table and a little "tray" to help catch food (although DD has figured out how to use it to launch cheerios from it :rotfl:). It rolls up easily and fits right into a bag.

We've used the disposable ones as back up, too, but a few times we've had a hard time removing them from the tables, so we mostly use the Tiny Diner one.

Hope I didn't word that wrong. My kids do not eat off of the table. :)
