Hi all, I will be traveling with a 5 1/2 month old who is almost too big for his infant carrier carseat, but can't sit alone in a restaurant high chair are most of the restaurants stroller friendly??
Thanks

The fast food venues seem to be pretty stroller friendly, some sit downs will allow it if there is room, and others it is just not feasible to push a stroller into the restaurant (too crowded, stairs, etc). I believe when I traveled with my 5 month old who wasn't such a good sitter yet, I invested in some sort of contraption that snuggly buckles them into the wooden hi-chair. It is similar to the one you can buy for shopping carts. Alternatively, maybe you could keep some towels on hand to roll up and stuff around him to keep him upright....
Also as a tip, the restaurants are much more stroller friendly if the baby is sleeping, they will try to accomodate you.

Hope this helps, have a great time!

Here is a link to the product I mentioned, check out the reviews at the bottom.....

We bought one of those highchair helpers for our trip when DD was 5 months old, and it was usually too much of a hassle to lug around (didn't fit in the diaper bag). Plus, the buckles never really fit around her and the cushion (even when on the loosest setting).

We found that most of the sit down restaurants did not allow strollers. At Tony's they offered to allow us in with the stroller, but DD ended up sitting in my lap anyhow.

take the carrier out of the stroller and plop it down on thier wooden high chairs. if your seat is an evenflo, use it with the high chair right sifde up. if you have a different kind of seat simply turn the high chair upside down and rest the seat in the base. you'll be all set.

We also found that the sit down restaurants were NOT stroller friendly. In fact, going into the Land food court at Epcot, we weren't even allowed into the building with our stroller (and the baby was sleeping at the time). Most servers tried to accomodate us with boosters, high chairs, or cushions on the seats.
