High Tea at Palo?

Yes, there is a high tea at Palo's on at sea days during the 7 night cruises. They serve finger sandwiches, scones, and a few desserts. We did it on our recent eastern cruise, and our opinion was that it was good, but not great.

I believe that they have started it on the 4 day cruises now on your day at sea.

REALLY?? Cool Beans! I am a tea drinker of the first degree! This sounds like it's right up my alley! :sunny:

Hubby and I found the high tea to be excellent. We both love teas and the assortment offered by Palo is outstanding. The food is also wonderful. We would do it again in a heart beat.

Don't forget to tip your server generously!

:worship: :worship: :worship: Could one of you kind souls please tell me what the additional cost is for the high tea? What are the hours? Attire requirements? :worship: :worship: :worship:

Is the high tea on the Magic anything like the tea at the Grand Floridian Garden View Lounge?

DH and I love tea at the Grand Floridian and that's one of the reasons that we tried afternoon tea at Palo on our October cruise. Do not, I repeat, do not, go in expecting the same variety or experience that you would get at the GF.

This is not to say that afternoon tea at Palo is bad - it was fine - but it does not compare with tea at the GF and if you are looking for that kind of experience I think you may be disappointed. We tried the Palo tea and we were alright with it, but will not do it again. For one thing, it doesn't compare with Palo's brunch or dinner, and for another it just doesn't live up to our expectations of what afternoon tea is (blame it on the Garden View Lounge!).

Try it so you can decide for yourselves - you'll definintely love the view and the service!!

Since we won't be comparing it to the tea at the Grand Floridian, I'll probably give it a whirl. :teeth:

Anyone able to tell me about the cost/times/attire?

On the 7-day cruise afternoon tea is offered on the days that you are "at sea."

The time is usually 3:00 - 4:00 in the afternoon and dress is resort casual. I wore a sundress and DH wore a nice pair of dockers ( I think they frown on shorts ).

$10 per person, by the way!

Thanks, Oybolshoi! We're doing the 4-Day on the Wonder. I'll just have to wait and see if they actually offer high tea on our "sea" day. :flower:

We went on our cruise a couple weeks ago and think the cost was $5/ person. We really enjoyed it---but then , it's the first high tea I've been to and I LOVE tea.

Bummer. They charge for High Tea now? Where have I been?? :confused3

I think they had to start charging because so many people were booking it and then not showing up. On our last 7 day we couldn't get in. We did it for the 2nd time on the 10 day and loved it. It is a very elegant afternoon and while not quite the same as tea at the Grand Floridian there is a wide choice of teas and the food is wonderful!

I'm happy to see the charge; last time we were on the Magic, there was only us and one or two other couples because everyone else didn't bother to show up. Our tablemates couldn't get reservations for high tea, and then people who did get ressies rudely didn't bother to cancel in advance. By charging a fee, people take it more seriously.
I am a HUGE fan of high tea. I adore the scones, and the tea is real leaves, not that stuff in teabags.
